DeAnn Jensen -- j j Lady Kingfish Her Handle Is The kids may call her "Lady King Fish" but that's okay with this week's good cook, Mrs. Linda Summers of Bothwell. When her husband Blair's farm got a little big for convenient communication, the couple decided to invest in CB radios. "Blair is King Fish and I'm Lady King Fish," she said. Linda said the CB set comes in handy for keeping track of a wandering farmer somewhere on the 500 acres he farms. " r "Sometimes I think he doesn't answer it even when he hears me," Having a base station in her home doesn't bother her, she said. "You just learn to tune it out until you hear your handle called." "You don't really notice how many people have them until you get one and then you start noticing how many antennas there are." Like most farm wives, Linda has become a master at mastering the couple's five children and those inevitable farming duties she shares with her husband. The kids include Jimmy, 8, Dianne, 7, Bart, 6, Jared, 2, and Jason, eight months. The farming duties include driving a beet truck from the field to the dump and driving the same truck at corn cutting time. Both duties require her to quit 30 minutes before lunch so she can hurry home and get something on the table for the four or five workers. She's back in the field in the afternoon "and that's no easy job," she said. Blair farms 500 acres of irrigated land and has a hired man besides his wife to help him. "You need that much land to justify the cost of equipment," his wife said. Being the only girl in the family, Dianne is Mom's right hand girl a situation which she still doesn't think is "fair.'' "She practically raised Jared for me," Linda said. -- - Mother and farmer, Linda still finds time to participate in sports playing on the Taylor Farm Service women's Softball team . The family likes swimming and the kids are currently taking lessons. Family members enjoy an annual outing to Clear Creek where they use their four wheel drive vehicle to ride the hills. The trip has become a tradition with Blair's parents and his three brothers and two sisters joining in. Among all her activities, Linda finds time to teach the Mother Trainer lesson in Relief Society and act as den leader for the Local Cub Scouts. Cooking for a farm family gives a wife lots of chances to work on her art. Linda even gets compliments now from her own father when he comes to dinner. He tells her how good she cooks then asks how she learned to cook so good, "she never did it at home." ) d LIBERTY"-Ca- st cups buttermilk - room temp., 1 yeast cake dis. in tbsp. warm water, 3 cups flour.
