Phi Kappa Phi, founded in 1897 to recognize and encourage superior scholarship in all academic disciplines, is a national honor society. The local students are the top five percent of their USU college contemporaries. Miss Atkinson is majoring in secondary education. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Atkinson. Mr. Anderson is majoring in accounting and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Anderson. Mrs. Flint is majoring in business education and is married to Frank E. Flint. The Tremonton District of the Continental Telephone Company of Utah held their annual Christmas dinner and awards party along with their partners at the Bowcutt Reception Center on Friday, 13 December 1974. An award was presented by Grant Callister, vice president and general manager of the Continental Telephone Company of Utah, to Sheldon Cannon, District Manager,, for 20 years of "'l it I 1 service. Mr. Cannon presented a ten year service award to Wes Baer, plant supervisor, and a five year award to Sally Ann Welling, service representative. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Muir and three daughters and one son of Mendon furnished a' musical program.
