Show THE LEADER. Tremonton, Utah Booklore Club Meets Social and Club News Mrs. Edna Rogers was hostess Wednesday afternoon when the Booklore Club held their regular meeting. The meeting was held at Worley's, where Mrs. LaRain Marble gave an interesting review of the book, "Rally Round the Flag Boys," by Max Shulman. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess to the club members and the following other guests, Mrs. Vera Stohl, Mrs. Ethel Chiodo, Mrs. Cath-ryNielsen, Mrs. Yvonne Webb and Mrs. Mildred Bunnell. Verna Hayes Weds Edward T. Stark In a ceremony performed recently in the Bothwell Ward Church, Edward T. Stark claimed Miss Verna Hayes as his bride. Elder Delores Stokes of the South Bear River Stake presidency officiated. A reception followed. 1 The bride is a daughter of Mr. ' and Mrs. Horace E. Hayes, 1154 South 8th East, Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Stark, Bothwell. are parents of the bridegroom. For the nuptials the bride was attired in a gown of chantilly lace underscored with satin. Long sleeves tapering to lily points over the writst and a winged collar were features of the molded bodice. The bouffant skirt fell floor length. District Mother Honored at State Meet Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Wassom Garland spent, the weekend in Tooele with their son Dr. Robert Wassom and family and with a daughter, in Bountiful. Sunday Mrs. Wassom, who was the choice of the Northern Utah District for Mother of the Year attended the meeting at the University Ward in Salt Lake City, where all the District mothers were honored. Kohler, Utah's Mother of the Year was to watch over children in their formative years, which are over so quickly, and "forget material things," she said especially to mothers who leave their children to go to work; Mary Ellen White became the bride of Sgt. James M. West in a ceremony performed at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom White, Tremonton, Utah, April 12, by Bishop James White, uncle of the bride. The groom is the son of Mr. James R. West, Blanco, NewMexico. The bride was lovely in a white slipper satin gown with ruffled white net and nylon tulle overskirt with inset of chantilly lace. The saberina neckline accented the fitted lace over satin bodice and long tapered lace sleeves. Her veil of nylon tulle fell to waist length from a beaded crown. She carried a bouquet of split and lovely white carnations pink rose buds. Attending the bride as Maid of Honor was Miss Margie Way-lor- d of Salt Lake City. Bridesmaids were Angie Payan, Smithson, Frances Mallane of Salt Lake City, and Renee Anderson of Bothwell. They carried colonial bouquets of split pink and white carnations with pink ribbons. Mrs. Kent Wheelwright preformed the duties of best man. A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. The new Mrs. West is a graduate of Bear River High School. Hazel Stephens, nutritionist of the State Department of Health was a guest of the club. She talked on foods, proper diet, and other phases of nutrition. Three girls from the L. D. S. Among them were members of the Home Economics Club which was instrumental in getting the library started. Coming from Salt Lake City for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Nebeker, Mrs. Larene Scott, Mrs. Mable Wadsworth, Mrs. Phoebe Haight, and Mrs. Mary Keller. Mrs. Edith Jensen, Ogden, was also a guest for the afternoon. Arlene Oyler was the gracious hostess Thursday evening at her home for the meeting of the Jovial J. Club. The girls enjoyed their usual game of Pinochle and the prize winners were ReNae Johnson, high; Evelyn Watt, travel; and Ruth Brough, cut. The hostess served tasty refreshments.
