Show THE BEAVER (Utah) PRESS THURSDAY, JULY 29, 1965 were Mr. and CHIT CHAT BY ESTA Well, this past week has been a busy one, but very enjoyable. Our daughter Mrs. Marie James, our granddaughter, Delores Walker and her three little girls from Whittier, Calif., have been visiting us and enjoying the fine programs given by the Beaver people. And the fine parade and race meet. They left Sunday to get back on the job but sorry they couldn't stay for the races this week-enOther guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Cox of Orem, Utah who visited over the week-enMr. and Mrs. Gilbert Smith had their family home over the week-en- d Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Smith and daughter of Las Vegas; Mr. and Mrs. Kfng Stevens and family of Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Smith and family of Provo; and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Smith and family of Orem. We were happy to see Leo's son Richard looking so much better after the serious accident he had while in the service. Miss LaRue Briggs is in the Milford Hospital for medical d. d. treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Ashworth acted as ter of ceremonies and the Grant Seaman of Elko, Nevada, John, Mitchell, Marilyn and Sally motored to Cedar City where they met their two daughters, Annette and Kathryn who are working with the Shakespearean Festival. They all came to Beaver for the Parade and Program on July 24th, Anette Kathryn and Sam sang "My Own America", accompanied by Mary Jane Sea man, in the fine program which Mrs. Mildred Atkin was responsible for. Mr. and Mrs. Beck Murdock and son are visiting in Beaver. Beck is the son of the late John P. and Lucille Murdock. They reside in California. They are visiting at the home of Back's sister, Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Atkin. , Mrs. Mary Haney had her grandson and family visit her over the week-enMr. and Mrs. Keith Tattersal and famliy of Torrance, Calif. Her sister, Nettie Baldwin, of Boulder City, Nevada, is here to spend some time with her but the Tattersall famiy left for home after spending a nice day in ths canyons and a day at the race meet Mr. and Mrs. Elwood (Alice) Lund of American Fork spent week-en- d the with Alice's mother Mrs. Mary Robinson and Mrs. Charley Smith and two daughters of Provo, Mrs. Lillis Gunderson and son, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond (Ella) Laub all of Salt Lake. Mrs. Baldwin entertained at a family dinner July 24th. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Baldwin had their family visiting over the week-enThey were Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Baldwin and family of Ogden, Louise and, Dale of Las Vegas, Nevada. ' Guests for the July 24th celebration at the home of Mrs. Hazel Eyre were Mr. Roy Griffiths of Oakland, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carter and son of Cedar City. Western Greyhound Lines cited 2 safe drivers, one was Glen O. Williams who has driven an estimated 750,000 miles during the past 10 years without an accident. Glen was born and raised in Beaver. He is a brother of Henry Willesen. We could all pattern after Glen1 and become better drivers. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Oakden were hosts for the holidays to four of their five sons: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oakden and two children of Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Don Oakden and child of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Oakden and four children of Las Vegas, and Dick and his family of Beaver. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Christensen (the former Mafy Vie Murdock) are vacationing with relatives in Beaver for a few weeks. The James C. Perkins family are estabblished once again at their summer home. d. LAND BANK LOANS d, Many uses... A 9 family of Orem, Utah visit2d in Beaver over the July 24th week. While Bob Low and family were in Beaver, he gave them all a thrill by giving rides in his plane. Those who took a ride were Mrs. Sadie Low, Mrs. Myrtle Waters, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Waters and family. Wish my folks had a plane. Mr. and Mrs. Presley Whorn-hahad Mr. Joseph Edwards of Salt Lake as their guest over the week-enThey enjoyed the two programs and the Race Meet together. Mr. and Mrs. Delile Ivie and daughter of Flowell visited their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don (Carcne) Baldwin last week. I n, 3; more advantanes The Class of 1956 held their reunion July 24th at 8 p.m. in the Community Center. Chicken and all the trimmings were served. Prizes were given also a special number by J. D. Osborn and Gordon Baker was given. Each of the class members was asked to stand and tell about their doings since graduation. Class mates from were: Elwynn and Nina Olsen, Ron and Cherie Beebe, Larry and Carol Coombs, Cullen and Kay Holyoak, Larry Manzione ana his lirl, David Lynn Pierca and his girl, Rhonda MsQuar-ri- e, David and Jean Willden, Golden Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beaumont. Anita and Sandra Song Firmage. Four Classmates, Bill Cox, King Morris, Stanley Lee and Ralph Fordham were asked to sing. These boys hadn't sung together since their years in the service rnd everyone really enjoyed their performance. Each class member gave a few remarks about what they were doing and about their families. Various gifts were given for the largest family, most grandchildren, etc. The remainder of the evening was spent in visiting and many of the couples enjoyed dancing at KG. Mrs. Florence Beaumont and masfol- Class Of 1939 Reunion The Class of '39 held their reunion July 23rd at the Elite Cafe at 8:30 p.m. After twenty-siyears is was a big thrill for the seventy-siand partners to x x class-mat- es meet. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Jensen and son Robert of Orem stopped overnight to visit George and Dorothy Rich last Saturday. Mrs. Jensen la Dorothy's sister. The Class of 1932 held their reunion on Friday, July 23rd with a dinner at the Elite Cafe afterwhich the members went to the Community Center whera they visited and danced. There were 48 in attendance, including the following class members. Reese, Class Of 1955 Reunion The Ponderosa Cafe was the setting for the class reunion of the Baaver High School Class of 1955. Nineteen members and their partners enjoyed a wonderful evening of renewing old friendships. After dinner a program was enjoyed. David Williams sang the Sn Prom theme "Silver Bells" David Williams and Jim Parks sang the Jr. Prom theme "Paradise". Marlynn H. Smith gave a reading of past school days and Kaye M. Adams read the Class Will. ; Ann P. Eyre read the Class Prophecy. David Blackner was master of ceremonies.
