CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN The pageant presented Friday July 23, 1965 at Beaver High School Auditorium by a cast of seventy-nin- e people under the direction of Mrs. Vilda Smith and Mr, Jay Christensen. The Busy Stitchers We opened our meeting at 1:50 p.m. Janice Gillies conduct- ed the meeting. Laurie Roberts said the Prayer. Janet Gillies asked us about what we had done about our shoes, rooms & fingernails. We planned to have a party on Wednesday, the 28th of July. We were assigned to have our hems and pockets done on our skirts by our next meeting. We sang a song called "My Hat It has Three Corners". Mrs. Poulson gave a demonstration on how to make a pocket. Our next meeting will be at Mrs. Poulson's on Monday, August 2nd at 1:30 p.m. Shelley Roberts, Reporter. Venetia Stoddard Weds Neal Grimshaw Wedding bells rang for Mr. and Mrs. Neal Grimshaw Tuesday evening, July 20th, at Las Vegas, Nevada. The young bride is the former Venetia Stoddard daughter of Mrs. E. L. Blair of Monahan, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Grimshaw of Bea ver. Neal has been in Salt Lake City for several years. He graduated from the LDS Business College and has worked for the Treasurer Department of Sperry Rand Utah Company for seven years. The happy couple are honeymooning in Texas and other southern states. They will make their home in Salt Lake City. Best wishes for a long and happy married life, Neal and Venetia. Visitors at the Joe Nelson home over the 24th were the Ralph McCloys and their fami- ly. Mr. McCloy is a former Principal at the High School. Peggy Roberts Becomes Mrs. Paul Mecham Miss Peggy Roberts and Mr. Paul Mecham exchanged ding vows in the Beaver wedFirst-Thir- d Ward with Bishop LaVel Bradshaw officiating on Monday July 19th. The Wedding March was played by Marge Ann Bradshaw A reception followed at which the grandparents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Seldon Nowers, the mother of the bride, Mrs. Arlene Judd. and the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Mecham, greeted the guests. The couple stood beneath an arch covered with yellow and The bride's gown was heavy white satin with a boat neckline, long sleeves and a slim skirt with a train. Her finger- -' tip veil was held by lace leaves outline with pearls. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses. Patsy Jarvis, sister of the bride was Maid of Honor. Judy Micheali and Nanette Warby were brides maids. Their dresses were peach colored satin and they carried bouquets of yellow and peach carnations accented with tiny butterflies. Charles Williams was Best Man and the ushers were Rus- sell Horton and Denny Wright. Alan Gale was Master of Cere ... monies and the opening pray- er was given by Dick Nowers. Jo Ann Blackner and Ralph ; Fordham sang "My Heart Belongs To Only You". and Mike Weldo George White played a guitar duet. Nell Smith sang "In The Still Of The Night." A trumpet solo, "Younger Than Springtime" and "Fly Me to The Moon"," by Mike Riley. Jill Hollingshead sang "Love Is A Many Splendored Thing". Max Mecham, father of the groom, sang "Hawaiian Wedding Song" and "Because". The closing prayer was by Jim Williams. A three-tieresquare, white wedding cake was decorated with yellow roses and topped three white satin wedding i, by bells. The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nevada. , X ...1. 1 Open House Held For Mr. And Mrs. Heppler An Open House was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Con- -' nell (Marlynn Heppler) Smith in Cedar City to honor Mr. and Mrs. Jack Heppler on Tuesday evening, July 20th. The ycung couple were mar- ried in the St. George Temple. Mrs. Heppler is the former Marti Watson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Watson. Jack is the son of Mrs. Rue Heppler. Jack recently received his degree in the field of Science from the USU and will teach at the Dixie High School in St. George next winter. Marti attended the CSU last winter. They are both graduates of Beaver High School. Congratulations Jack and Mar ti. May your life be filled with happiness. Speaker Larry Rowley from Parowan. d, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carter, formerly of Beaver and now of Cedar City, took advantage of the celebration and joined the fun. They are doing some fishing in the canyon this week but will be on hand for the races this week-enRemember Ward, you owe us a letter. Get with it. Brose and Bertha Dalton are in town for the races and other activities. Even though they have moved to Mesa, I'll bet Beaver will always remain their true home at heart. Barbara Patterson, her daughter Cecelia, son Mike and Mrs. Hortence Park of Provo spent the week with the Horace d. Pattersons. They enjoyed the homecoming and a trip to the parks while here too. Visitors at the Edwin Paice home were Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielsen and family of Oak City, Howard and Delta Paice of Ely. Manderfield Notes By Ileen Bradshaw Visitors for the July 24th Homecoming were: Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Webb and baby and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Webb all of Salt Lake visited Collis Bradshaws. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Bradshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Moody and family of Salt Lake visited at the Ray Bradshaws. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Johnson and family of Dugway, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert White of Cedar were at the Lafe Bradshaws. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Edwards visited in Las Vegas and returned for the July 24th celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Ivie visited with M?. and Mrs. Don Baldwin They are from Flowell. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Baldwin had Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Smith, Lillis andher baby. Mr. and Mrs. LaVel Bradshaw had a family dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Ron Rowley and family ef Parowan, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rowley of Cedar, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Bradshaw, Randy, Colleen Wilden. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Baldwin and family were at Mr. and Mrs. Stan Beaumonts at a family reunion on the 24th. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Baldwin had Mr. and Mrs. Duane Baldwin and family of Ogden and Mrs. Louise Kelsey and family and Dale of Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Patterson and family of Cedar were also guests of their parents, Mr and Mrs. Horace Patterson on Saturday and Sunday. On the 24th Mrs. Martha Paice was honored at a birthday dinner with the following family members present: Ileen and Arthur Olsen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Paice of Ely, Nev., Mr .and Mrs. Marvin White and family of Las Vegas, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Paice and family, Mrs. Isabel Muir, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Oliver and the Lee Strong family.
