Closure samples indicated BTEXN concentrations were below recommended cleanup levels set by the State. An AFDD was prepared for the site in October 1995. State approval is pending. ST61, Bldg. 870 EGSS CAP The site is located in the Hid AFB tank farm. It consists of an UST and 2 tanks (ASTs). The UST was removed in November 1 981 Soil samples indicated that hydrocarbon contanwation was present adjacent to the tank. Groundwater samples showed evidence of contamination in the shallow aquifer. An extensive site investigation followed. The results of this study suggest that the contamination poses no significant health risk. The corrective action selected for the site is intrinsic remediation with monitoring. Bo venting for the soil and LNAPL recovery for the groundwater will be employed to reduce the source of the contamination.
