Also, why were Egyptian genie bottles being sold on work time and on government property QHow Program j jj F-- F-- April 3? The standing down of the last active Air Force F-- 4 unit was an event of historical significance especially to the personnel of the F-- 4 SPD, many of whom have contributed a significant portion of their lives in support of this weapon system. In recognition of these facts, the original plan was to give the entire F-- 4 SPD administrative leave to attend the ceremonies. This is authorized under Joint Travel Regulation Volume II, Part F. As an extra precaution the base legal office was contacted and concurred with the plan. Unfortunately, the airlift that was arranged for the trip was canceled, putting a halt to these plans. Because of the historical significance of the event, the F-- 4 SPD decided that representation at the retirement ceremony by someone from the F-- 4 program office would be appropriate. Due to TDY funding shortages, four employees (not three) volunteered to travel to Nellis AFB, Nev., at their own expense to represent the F-- 4 SPD at the closing ceremonies. Under these circumstances, it was appropriate to grant them administrative leave which is also authorized in JTR Vol II, Part F. The fund-raise- r dance with the provisions of Air Force Instruction All proceeds are documented as contributions to the fund and all expenditures are controlled. Fundraiser guidelines were provided to LFI by the 75th Air Base Wing Services Division and the Staff Judge Advocates Office in April 1995, and the 6 International Division is adhering to those guidelines. y A F-1- F-1- Hilltop Times distribution be done about the Times in the housing area? It seems the people who don't care about receiving the paper simply leave them in their ' carports or on the sidewalks, where the papers eventually blow around, get wet and start to rot. After a while the streets become an eyesore and the housing area looks trashy. QCan ofanything the Hilltop m You are correct, the papers do become an eye-- f sore when residents choose to ignore and not pick them up. Consideration was given to deliver the paper only to specified homes; however, at this time that would be impractical. I'm Confident the paper and delivery are enjoyed by the majority of the housing residents, and I can only encourage all concerned to take the' time and to remove the m & 1 Service by October 1996. This step is being taken because of downsizing throughout Air Force medical services. When the Internal Medicine Clinic offiJm cially closes, active duty members and their Maj. Gen. On behalf of the honor guard commander and members of the honor guard, thank you for recognizing the time and effort they put forth. Your letter of thanks is deeply appreciated. A kudos is long overdue to MSgt. Jeffrey Madrigal, 75th Medical Group, who exemplifies the Air Force's motto, "Service before self." His caring attitude twos reflected when a new Air Force troop met resistance at all levels in trying to purchase a military field jacket. Madrigal not only went out on a limb to order him a facket, but went to the extreme of giv- ing this new troop his own Goretex jacket. This was truly an act of service before s self!
