Show 388th Ops awards honor high burners The 4th Fighter Squadron received six shopelement awards recently when the 388th Operations Group awards were presented. The unit was honored as the Squadron Intelligence Shop, Plans Shop, Weapons Shop (Operations), Support Section, Weapons Section (Main- tenance) and Maintenance Unit of the Year. Photo by 75th Medical Group As a way to say thank you for assisting veterans, the VFW Post 8868 presented a check to the 75th Medical Group's commander, Col. Kathryn Boehnke, and Food Services' NCOIC, MSgt. David Moran. VFW Post 8868 donates food, money to families Minuteman Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8868 recently donated money and food items to local and base organizations in time for Thanksgiving. The organization donated $125 worth of food items to the base chapel pantry, and $50 each to the Security Police Squadron and the 75th Medical Group. This is the sixth year the VFW Post has donated money and food items in recognition of assistance given to veterans. Five turkeys were also donated to the Ogden Rescue Mission. VFW Post 8868 has been chartered on Hill AFB for more than 30 years. It is the only VFW Post char "-- f z FT ml tered on an active military installa tion in the continental United States. Membership is open to veterans of World War I, World War II, Korean, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama and the Gulf War. The post does service projects within the community and the Veterans Administra-tio- n hospital. The post meets the first Tuesday of each month in the base chapel education building.
