(Dr.) Paul N. Cordon. Under his dental care, I was the fortunate recipient of his expertise, his personable manner, and his dedication to excellence. His care demonstrated to me he values and gives personal service to each patient. I am sure that I am only one of many to appreciate his efforts and results. We at Hill are fortunate to have some of the finest health care providers in our dental clinic Maj. Cordon is indeed a valued member of the dental staff who is highly qualified He, along with the rest of the dental staff, put patient care and sensitivity at the top of their list of quality initiatives. As a matter of fact, the dental squadron commander's vision is to "treat staff and patients the way you would like to be treated with sensitivity and compassion!" I appreciate and echo your compliments and the gratitude expressed for Dr. Cordon's health care. 34 43 Social Actions Rotations Employ Military Pay Civilian Pay Air Fore Suggestion Program IG Complaints (for appointment) Fraud, Wast and Abuse (recording) 75th Medical Group Civil Engineering Public Affairs Military Housing Maintenance Safety Office Union AFOSI Narcotics Hotline Maj. I feel this is a vital need to the community and administrative leave should be approved. The regulation governing adminisra-tiv- e leave states that if you are doing something of interest to the community, leave could be ' ' authorized. If this volunteer work does not interfere with our workload, there is no harm being done. What can be more of a community interest than the education of our children? Ql f The STARS program encourages Hill AFB employees to donate at least one hour each week to tutor children. However, the employee is 42 16 28 51 75 01 ....7-530- 5 00 18 56 01 63 33 57 52 still required to work his or her complete shift on the day they tutor. Administrative leave is a cost to the s center in lost and lost productivity; therefore, granting administrative leave for the STARS program is not in the best interest of the Air Force, I agree that our children are an asset and extremely important; however, our No. 1 priority as Hill employees is the mission. Tad Stanley Commander, 75th Civil Engineering Group While browsing through mail-ordcatalogs and watching football on TV, an aviation poster caught my eye. Showing an 4 Tomcat about to be launched from an aircraft carrier, the poster's words were "Teamwork the vehicle of accomplishment is fueled by teamwork." . For sure! The 75th Civil Engineers, like other organizations, is challenged to succeed in its mission with fewer people and supply dollars. Our mission is to operate and maintain the base facility infrastructure so the rest of the base residents can also succeed. While we continue to improve our business practices, we cannot succeed alone. We too have flattened our organization and streamlined processes wherever pos' sible and sensible: ' D To be the "supplier of choice," we continue to meet our customers' needs with quality products and services on time and at least costs. O With the Technology and Industrial Support Directorate, we've established one customer service unit to receive all maintenance and repair requests on fa- - make us more efficient and more competitive. D We've used the private sector to supplement our facility maintenance workforce in family housing, dormitories and lodging. So, while we're changing the civil engineering group internally and bringing on new team players to improve our mission accomplishments, we cannot succeed alone. Just like other units, our mission depends on support and involvement teamwork. Timely, quality support from both civilian and military personnel, transportation, supply, security police, safety, environmental management, financial management and contracting is critical Some good words from the base chaplain can't hurt either! However, besides receiving operational support, we need dedicated involvement from our customers. Yep, it's a two-wafast lane. How active people are within Civil Engineering plays a big part in how well the base facility infrastructure performs and looks. This is done by calling for help, supporting those who respond or just doing the work on our own. When a part of our facility or land se er F-1- Cf C van Vv--- - 'JO 10 y . . . Col. Our "billing" system allows our customers to see the costs for our services, ensure the right funds are used to pay those costs and use those costs to scape needs to be fixed, get with the facility manager and call the Service Desk Be perfectly clear about at Ext. what's wrong. When CE, TI or a contractor responds, ease access, keep the repair disruption to a minimum and allow the craftsmen to press to the next call. If the work isn't a simple job, then all involved must proactively help plan and execute the work. Sometimes, the work can be done like without a craftsman The stores Bldg. 820 for the main base, Bldg. 3303 for military family stand ready to provide the housing materials and tools for repairs. Several customers have taken advantage of these stores to improve not only their facilities but also the outdoor area surself-hel- p. self-hel- p rounding the facility. This extra involvement enhances the quality of life and improves base appearance and thus is greatly appreciated by all concerned. Like everyone else, CE's mission accomplishment improves with positive customer involvement. Let's continue to energize successful operation and maintenance of the base facility infrastructure with teamwork. Thanks! |
