Show June Gen. Condon ZZZ'f-'t'- ).- f kicks off savings bond campaign Maj. Gen. Pat Condon signed the first U.S. Savings Bond allotment request May 16 to kick off the 1995 Savings Bond Campaign which rims June "Savings bonds offer the investor a safe and effective way to finance their future," Maj. David installation project officer, said. "The investment builds and compounds semiannually at market-base- d interest rates while benefiting from deferred-tasavings. One can begin an investment with as little as $5 per pay period, and through consistent savings, accumulate enough money to finance e a college education, supplement a retirement income, or simply have money set aside for a rainy day." Savings bonds are also virtually risk free and are backed by the U.S. government. In addition, bonds offer substantial tax advantages. Interest earnings are exempt from state and local income taxes and federal tax is deferred until a bond is cashed or reaches final maturity 30 years after purchase. During the upcoming campaign on base, workers will contact base employees to give them an opportunity to participatent in this program. John Brewer, Ogden Air Logistics Center senior enlisted advisor, recently received the Noncommissioned Officers' Association's second highest the Super Saxon Merit recognition Award. The award is approved and awarded by International Headquarters NCO A annually to members who meet established requirements. Brewer's continued contributions above and beyond to association development was a key factor leading to his recognition as well as his firm belief that as professionals, the need for affiliation with professional organizations is a must. The Super Saxon Merit Award is one of eight steps toward becoming a Knight at the international level within the NCOA. The NCOA collectively voices concerns to Congress on quality of life issues such as pay and benefits for all men and women in uniform as well as retired military. |
