Show Hilltop Times July 1, 1993 ILyDes. B Continued from Page 1 and military installations. While I still fervently believe this base has numerous positive attributes in its favor the proof of the pudding is conveying this message to the next closure commission and the "powers that be" in DOD and Congress. Lest-yo- u think that 1995 is two years away and we have plenty of time to worry about this, recall that the data gathering for this year's closure activity actually began almost a year ago. So we can expect that the data gathering for the 1995 closure process will begin in just 5 months from now! What do we have to do to collectively address this 12-1- major issue? First, we at Hill AFB and the Ogden Air Logistics Center have to continue to make improvements in our labor efficiencies, costs to customers, quality of products, work processes, innovative technologies and overall competitiveness. Though we have been successful in the past in these areas, we still have many old cultures and ways of doing business that will have to change to allow us to continue to make the strides necessary for future progress. Second, even after we have made improvements, we have to do a much better job of sharing the knowledge of our capabilities and strengths with the world outside of our base gates with the local com- munity, with local governments and chambers of commerce, with universities, with state officials, and, of course, with the congressional delegations: Finally nce we have spread the word to these primary supporters, we all then need to collectively sing the praises of this outstanding organization! As we plan and prepare for our next great challenge, I solicit the support of every worker to help us emerge successfully from the 1995 base closure and realignment process. They said the missiles struck the target about 2 a.m. Baghdad time, a time specifically chosen to minimize casualties in terms of people operating in the area. The IIS is responsible for investigating and acting against any suspected disloyalties, monitoring Iraqi citizens and political activities, and countering dissident Iraqis and opposition groups outside the country, Aspin said. He said it is also responsible for conducting terrorist attacks abroad, as it tried to do in the case of the attempted assassination. The attack was conducted solely by U.S. forces. Communications-Compute- r Art fraud scams on military bases According to a message from the Air Force Office there is a recurring problem of art scams that target Officers' Wives g Club activities. The first problem occurred at Patrick AFB, Fla., where the OWC had an art auction with Genesis Galleries as the vendor. To date, several individuals who purchased art works have not received the art. Attempts to contact the company have been unsuccessful. Other problems have happened since then. This company changes its name frequently, and AFOSI says it appears the group is not going to go away.
