Applications for the program are being accepted now. Teen-ager- s may be placed in volunteer positions with the Red Cross, family services, the Hill Thrift Shop and various offices around the base doing such things as filing, photography and artwork. Gen. Robert McCoy, vice commander, Air Force Logistics Command, will be the luncheon speaker. Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Marc C. Reynolds, former Ogden Air Logistics Center commander, will serve as the moderator for the event. Registration is limited and the cost for the three-da-y event ranges from $135 to $350 per person. Activities planned for the last two days include the annual AFA Charity Invitational Golf Tournament and social events. Money raised from the golf tournament is used to award scholarships in aerospace education at three Utah universities as well as the Air Force Assistance Fund and the Heritage Foundation of Utah, which supports the Hill AFB Museum. The registration fee includes a special awards banquet on June 15. Deadline for registering is June 11. For registration information, call Marc Williams or Linda Schneider, 1 Event highlights changes AF faces in next century The Utah Air Force Association is sponsoring its eighth annual Focus on Defense Symposium, June at the Hill AFB Officers' Club. Part of the June 13 symposium will focus on "The Challenge of Change." Speakers include Lt. Gen. Jimmie Adams, deputy chief of staff, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force Plans and Operations, at the Pentagon. The symposium will highlight many of the challenges Air Force commands will face in the next century. Participants will arrive from around the country. Also slated to address the group are Lt. Gen. Donald Aldridge, vice commander in chief, Headquarters, Strategic Air Command; Arthur Hitsman, president, Boeing Computer Services; Garth D. 13-1- 5 8. DIood donations sought The son of Steve Nalder, a worker in the 2849th Civil Engineering Squadron, is in the University of Utah Medical Center Burn Center e with second- - and burns over 70 percent of his body. He is in need of blood donations. The Nalder family is requesting blood donations be made in his name. Any type of blood is acceptable.
