Besides honoring the best maintenance professionals, this year's guest speakers are two members of the Air University Air Force National Security Briefing Team. Wing public affairs officials said tickets to the banquet have already been sold out. The briefing team's purpose is to inform and provide an insight into the complex national security issues facing the nation. The team, which is sta- tioned at the Air University at Maxwell AFB, Ala., is made up of 12 officers who represent the faculties of the Air Force's top military schools: Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College. The future security of the United States is the focus of the presentation by Col. Calvin R. Johnson, chief of the NSBT. He will cover such issues as defense spending and arms control. "The benefits of this team are two," said Colonel Johnson. "First, we share the information we teach at our schools with the American public. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, we bring the public's thoughts and perceptions about the state of their nation back to the very people who protect it."
