Sandra McAllister, . Production Controller Instructor for the directorate, has a big job. Along with the course developers she is responsible for organizing a new training program for some 1,000 to 1,500 people within the Scheduling and Inventory Control Branch of maintenance. "There has never been training within the Directorate of Maintenance of this scale," said Mrs. McAllister. "The training program is designed to train everyone in the materiel and scheduling areas of maintenance." Several classes that will be taught by Mrs. McAllister are: Introduction to Materiel Control, Maintenance Inventory Control, Production Support Function, Indirect Materiel Function, and Scheduling Overview. These classes, explained Mrs. McAllister, "introduce materiel personnel to an overview of the materiel area, understanding of depot supply, and interfacing with the item manager. They also teach materiel personnel how to order, store, accomplish work listings, and fill out paperwork utilizing computer systems to do their jobs." "There have been calls from other ALCs that are interested in the training being developed by Hill AFB about materiel topics," commented Mrs. McAllister. Mrs. McAllister hopes the complete training program will be in operation by this October.
