The auction is being conducted by the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office and the public is encouraged to bid. Among the 257 items being offered are appliances, tool boxes, furniture, vehicles, chemicals, telephones, office machines, office equipment and wood pallets. Items may be inspected today and Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday before the auction begins. Darryl A. Hoppes, noncommissioned officer in charge of customer services of CBPO at Hill AFB. Customer Service serves as the single focal point for customers of CBPO. It serves as the referral point for all organizations within CBPO. The office is run by three people: Sergeant Hoppes, Sgt. Charles H. BiHener and SrA. Glen H. Gallion. "We provide customers the assurance that someone is available, does care, has the expertise, and will help resolve any personnel problem," said Sergeant Hoppes. Customers are referred to the proper place for many services such as: personnel programs, humanitarian reassignmentsdeferments, permissive move reassignments, Palace Chase (AF Reserve) applications, Base of Preference reassignments, retraining, and special duty assignments. They also provide assistance in completing base the locator cards, identification cards, as well as providing personnel insight films on a variety of subjects. Insight films include subjects such as: assign other Air Force programs. In addition, Customer Service can provide information and determine basic eligibility for SWAP in- formation and instructor duty assignments. Also, they will help personnel complete Record of Emergency Data, Certification of Termination, Annual Recertification of Eligibility for Federal HousLoans, and Defense ing Administration Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System enrollments and terminations. Personnel who get married while in the service can get their names, Social Security numbers, and marital status changed at Customer Service. In-Servi- ce They also can help personnel accomplish statements of service for VA loans, Office Career Objective, Airman Assignment Preference Sheets, Social Security card applications, and provide information on obtaining birth certificates. "Our primary mission is to serve you, the customer," remarked Sergeant Hoppes. "We take pride in servicing all our customers." Customer Service is located in building 180, room 216 and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (to 3:45 p.m. for ID cards) each duty day. 0 through 110 and 146 through 158 are at Hill AFB; items 111 through 145 and 159 through 257 are at Defense Depot Ogden. Registration for bidding will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday. All bidders must be present and registered to bid. Mailed bids cannot be. accepted.
