Show HILL TOP TIMES 3 Friday, January 18, 1985 I' f i Dr. King 'His dreoms live By Tom Maske Public Affairs Office OO-AL- C "We are to do all we can while we can for the good of man," was the main message delivered by the Reverend Tyrone Seals, minister at the New Zion Baptist Church in Ogden, during memorial services for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tuesday at Hill AFB. The base tribute to Dr. King was attended by Maj. Gen. Charles McCausland, commander, Ogden Air Logistics Center, key members of the Hill AFB staff, many base employees and local dignitaries. Reverend Seals eulogized Dr. King's life, depicting him as a devoted husband, father and son gif t- ed with charisma and dedicated to equality of all, regardless of race, creed, color or stature. Reverend Seals stated that on into the next century history books would reflect on the artificial heart, the Soviet talks, Nobel peace prize winners and other topics. However, the one thing that history would not tell would be the struggles that would still be plaguing the nation. Crime will still be prevalent and common in our cities and people will still be poor and oppressed, still struggling for Reverend Tyrone Seals General Schedule employees receive poy increase Executive Order 12496 was signed by President Reagan Dec. 28, authorizing a SV2 percent pay raise for General Schedule employees. He also noted that the communication gap be- tween young and middle-age- d Americans has nar-rowed significantly leading the way for a stronger nation since communication is the medium by which we are educated. Reverend Seals said he believed educating our youth of the dangers and pitfalls of using drugs would also be a major concern of Dr. King's. "He often spoke of the important role a nation's young played in its growth," said the Reverend. The Lord gave Dr. King all that he needed to pursue his quest in life, Reverend Seals said. "He was the voice in the wilderness, looking for helping hands.
