Affairs Office top enlisted achievers were honored for their selection as finalists for the title of Outstanding Airmen of the Year for the Ogden Air Logistics Center, at a banquet held Jan. 5 at the Twenty-tw- o NCO Club. "I am extremely impressed with the young peo- ple serving with us today," commented Maj. Gen. Charles McCausland, commander, Ogden ALC, in a tribute to the finalists. "The Air Force accomplishments are many and varied, owing to people like yourselves." Selected for top honors were MSgt. William D. Lovell in the senior noncommissioned officer category, TSgt. David C. Seaman in the noncommissioned officer category, and SrA. Kim J. Griep in the airman category. Honoring the three members who will represent Ogden ALC for the Air Force Logistics Command Outstanding Airmen of the Year and the other finalists, General McCausland said, "I congratulate you for giving so much of yourselves. Your dedication to excellence will serve you always and inspire those serving with you." ' ..." tr Sergeant Seaman was then assigned to the United States Logistics Group, Detachment 118 Security Police, Izmir City, Turkey, where he served as a law enforcement flight chief. While stationed at Izmir City, he attended the 17th Air Force NCO Leadership School and graduated as the Commandant's Award winner. He was selected as the squadron and Detachment 118 NCO of the Quarter for the period ending Mar. 31, 1980. In February 1981, Sergeant Seaman was assigned to the 2849th SPS here as an installation patrolman. In May 1981 he was assigned to the Investigations Section as a security police investigator, where he remained until 1981 when he was selected for his present position. Sergeant Seaman attended the AFLC NCO Academy, Robins AFB, Ga., and graduated as the Honor Graduate and Military Studies Award winner. In addition, he was selected as the Hill AFB Outstanding NCO of the Quarter for the period ending Sept. 30, 1982 and the 2849th Air Base Group NCO of the Year for 1982. Sergeant Seaman is currently pursuing a bachelor of science degree at Weber State College. ' 1 MSgt. William D. Lovell Senior NCO MSgt. William D. Lovell is a law enforcement specialist assigned to the 2849th Security Police Squadron here and was nominated for his superior ability and leadership as NCOIC, Unit Training. A native of Payson, Utah, Sergeant Lovell j oined the Air Force in February 1967 and following basic military training was assigned a combat tour with the 11th SPS, Phu Cat AB, Vietnam. He was selected as the squadron's Outstanding Airman of the Quarter during this tour. Sergeant Lovell was then assigned to the 93rd SPS, Castle AFB, Calif. In July 1969, he was assigned to Detachment 1, 320th Bomb Wing, Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, and was a major factor in the 320th SPS being selected as best in the 15th Air Force and Strategic Air. Command. In September 1970, he was transferred to the 405th SPS, Clark AB, Philippines, and in September 1972, was assigned to the 60th SPS, Travis AFB, Calif. Sergeant Lovell was then assigned to the 8th SPS, Kunsan AB, Korea. After leaving Korea, Sergeant Lovell was assigned to the 320th and 323rd SPS, Mather AFB, Calif. Sergeant Lovell was personally selected by the chief, Security Police, Headquarters Air Force Logistics Command, to be the kennelmaster for the 2849th SPS, Hill AFB, in August 1981. In recognition of his outstanding service, Sergeant Lovell was selected as the 2849th Security Police Senior NCO for Law Enforcement in 1983 and competed at Air Force Logistics Command. Sergeant Lovell is a graduate of the Command Noncommissioned Officers Academy and Leadership School and is pursuing a degree in business management. He is married to the former Phyllis Pehrson of Vernal, Utah, and they have four children. Noncommissioned Officer - 4 TSgt. David C. Seaman is assigned to the Air Force Logistics Command NCO Leadership School here and was nominated for his outstanding skills as a Professional Military Education instructor. ' A native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Sergeant Seaman entered the Air Force in December 1974. He completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas arid attended Law Enforcement Technical School and Air Base Ground Defense School at Lackland AFB and Camp Bullis, Texas. His first assignment was to the 100th SPS, Beale AFB, Calif., in April 1975. During his tenure, he attended Phase I, NCO Orientation Course and Phase II, USAF Supervisors Course and was selected as Honor Graduate for both phases. In April 1978, Sergeant Seaman was assigned to the 46th SPS, Peterson AFB, Colo., serving as a security police investigator. He was selected as the NCO of the Quarter for his squadron and the 46th Airman Outstanding SrA. Kim is presently assigned to the Griep 2849th ABG here as a personnel specialist and was nominated for her leadership skills, relentless ef- t ' I 'i lb forts, perceptive thinking and decisive actions, well of above and beyond the call duty. A native of London, England, Airman Griep moved to the United States in April 1982 and enlisted in the Air Force Reserves under the Delayed EnlistmentEntry Program in June 1982. She subsequently enlisted in the Air Force in September 1982. Upon completion of basic training and technical school, she was assigned to Hill AFB. In March 1984, she was promoted to senior airPromotion Board. man by the base Airman Griep has had numerous distinctions including CBPO Technician of the Month for July 1983 and her successful completion of the Career Development Course with an average of 92 percent. She was identified as an "Exceptional Performer" by the HQ AFLC Personnel Assistance Team twice, and was selected as the Outstanding Airman of the Quarter for her squadron and for Hill AFB for the quarter ending September 1983. She was also chosen as her squadron's Outstanding Airman of the Year for 1983, and in March 1984, Airman Griep was selected as Hill AFB Outstanding David C. Seaman Airman of the Year. Again, in September 1984 she TSgt. was selected as Hill AFB and her squadron's Outstanding Airman of the Quarter. Airman Griep is married to Sgt. Bradley A.
