Show Page 10 HILL TOP TIMES October 24, 1980 "You're not Sherlock Holmes," said Melody Capps, one of six energy awareness poster winners from Hill AFB Elementary. "He has a funny accent." "I'm Ohms, not Holmes, the base detective for energy conservation," said Sherlock Ohms. Sherlock Ohms, alias Larry Sidle from Plans and Programs Division, accompanied the "Energy Awareness" poster winners from Hill Field Elementary School on a tour of the 6 Fighter Squadron, the fire station and Det. 4, the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, last Friday. Poster winners from grades one through six were accompanied by their principal, Edwin Case, who helped select the winners for the contest. "It wasn't easy. There were many boys and girls who put a lot of thought and talent in trying to draw their ideas on energy awareness," said Mr. Case. The poster winner for first grade is Amy Hedges and for fourth grade Michelle Hedges, F-1- daughters of Capt. and Mrs. David Hedges. Second grade winner is Catherine McBride, daughter of 2nd Lt. and Mrs. John McBride. Third grade was represented by Barbara Lockwood, daughter of TSgt. and Mrs. John Lockwood. Fifth grader Melody Capps, daughter of SSgt. and Mrs. David Capps, did an outstanding job on her poster as did Andrew Strom, six grade son of TSgt. and Mrs. Fred Strom. Some of the highlights of the tour were the air show by an 6 aircraft, Det. 4's rescue film and the alarm drill at the fire station. "It was real scary when the alarm went off and everyone rushed by us to get on the trucks," said Michelle Hedges, fourth grade daughter of Capt. and Mrs. David Hedges. Prior to the tour of the station, the group had a safety talk on what to do if an alarm went off. Squadron representatives at each stop talked about the squadron and what they were doing to help Hill conserve energy. I 4 m. 4 V - X " 4'i ' i iVfeft F-1- .
