Goulter, of Fillmore announce the engagement engage-ment and approaching marriage of their daughter Roxanna to Mr. Vernon K. Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mitchell of Delta. The couple will be wed June 8, and greet friends at a reception that night in the Stake House in Fillmore. They will make a home in Delta, where Mr. Mitchell is employed. Mr. and Mrs Robert Carling and children visited Wednesday and Thursday at Deseret with friends and relatives. Albert Warner from Salt Lake City visited a few days at the home of his son, Bishop Cecil C, Warner. On Thursday evening Carol War-nick War-nick was hostess to the Deseret Rook Club. A very lovely luncheon was served after which one high rook was played. Members present were Dora Black, Jackie Black, Fern Crafts, Barbara Conk, Lucille Sampson, Mae Cropper, Deloras Ogden, Bessie Webb, Mae Cahoon, Evah Conk and Carol Warnick. The guests for the evening were Nora Cropper and Mary Black. Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher and son Hyrum were in Salt Lake City Thursday. The marriage will be solemnized June 5 in the Manti LDS Temple. The bride-elect is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Crouse, of Boone, Iowa. She now resides in Provo, where she is employed as an operator with the telephone company. Mr. Porter is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Porter, of Sutherland. He was graduated from Delta High School and attended college two years before he filled an LDS mission mis-sion in the northern states. Since his return from the mission field last" December he has studied at College of Southern Utah, Cedar City. After a wedding trip the couple will return to be honored at a reception Friday evening, June 14, at Sutherland Ward hall. Engagement Is Announced Mr. and Mrs. Harold Taylor, of Delta, are announcing the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Ronda Marie, to E. Lyman Munford, son oi Mr. and Mrs. Bud Munford, of Parowan, Utah. The date for the wedding has not yet been decided. Both have been attending College of Southern South-ern Utah at Cedar City. Fillmore visited Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Eliason. Grant Western from Salt Lake City visited with his parents during dur-ing the week, Mr. and Mrs, F. M. Western. Mrs. Josie Moody and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moody and daughter, visited Thursday at Ely, Nevada, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Judd. , Mr. and Mrs. Earl Christensen visited Friday at Manti. Konneth Mortensen, 15, DHS sophomore, had a TV test recently, and appeared on KUTV Saturday at G:30 p. m. He plays the accordion, accor-dion, and won second place in the Talent Show at DHS, and second place in the show at Richfield later. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Mortensen; of Sutherland. Mr. and Mrs. John Clark were visited during the week by their daughters, Mrs. Jean McGachen, of Reseda, Cal., and Miss Virginia Clark, of Sherman Oaks. On Friday they attended the wedding in Ely, Nevada, of their son, Mathew Dale Clark, and Betty Mae Bonner, and the reception that followed. Home for Mother's Day with Mr, ana Mrs. H. A. A very fine Mother's Day program pro-gram was presented at Sunday School Sunday morning and each mother was presented with a nice potted plant. Special awards were given to the mother with the largest lar-gest family, Martha Mace; mother with the youngest baby, Beulah Rowley and oldest mother in town, Effie Moody. In sacrament meeting Sunday evening the program was given under the direction of High Councilman Coun-cilman Clark Bishop. Talks were given by Clare Stephensen, Cutler and Mary Henrie and Clark Bishop. Two musical numbers were given by Jerold Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Allred and children from Provo spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Allred. Dean Broderick, employed at Richfield with the Mountain States Telephone Co., came home Friday, and took his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Broderick, to Salt Lake City for a weekend visit. They visited their granddaughter, Linda Newman, New-man, of Dugway, who is at the LDS hospital for treatment of a foot bone broken while playing basketball. And they had dinner Saturday with their daughter and husband, Betty and Gary Paxton, at Granger, and on Sunday they dined with another daughter and husband, Maggie and Max Kay, at Rose Park. They returned home Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Cowers attended funeral services Saturday in Nephi for their grandson, Michael Mich-ael Jay Jenkins, 16-months old son of Allen K. and Joyce Gowers Jenkins. Jen-kins. The child died Tuesday night of last week at American Fork, a'ler a week's illness. Ho was born Jan. 10, 1956. He Is survived toy his parents, two sisters, and a brother. Linda Cowers, of Delta and Theron and Claudia G. Johnson, of Cedar City, also attended the rites.
