They came to pick up Vesta, who has been here with her Aunt Margaret, while her mother was In Milford. Mrs. Raymond Juckson and two daughters, Joann and Jeanie, of Nephi and Mr. and Mrs. Bevin Niel- with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dean of Salt Lake City were down to the Niel son home Sunday and Monday to mow the lawn, etc. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Letham and two children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Nielson Sunday. Joan Bradfield had a girl friend visiting home with her this weekend. week-end. Mrs. Lorna Wichmann and her daughter Betty Ann, are back, after spending two weeks In Hunts vllle, helping care for a brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Welby Finlinson drove Into Salt Lake Saturday to see Arlyn. Friday at the meet Ar lyn won 1st place In the 440 at the BYU and U. of U. meet. His relay team also took 1st place, Arlyn has enlisted In the Army Re serve and goes for a six months training period as soon as school is out. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Moody attended at-tended sacrament meeting Sunday. Mr. Moody baptised Mrs. Claudine Nielson and Bishop Richard Niel son confirmed her a member of the LDS church. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Dutson and children spent Friday night to Sat urday night with the Rulon Dut sons. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barton also were home for the weekend. Max Nielson and Inez Nielson drove up from school at Cedar City They stopped in Kanosh and picked pick-ed up Annette and all came home for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Von Johnson drove to Sprlngdale Monday," stoping on the way to see Frank Grygla at CSU. Mr. 'and Mrs. Burton Hanson attended at-tended the wedding dance of Bryce Bunker in Delta, Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Stephenson, Stephen-son, Mrs. Jane Ashby and Mrs. Rea Whatcott visited friends and relatives rela-tives in town Saturday. The Primary conference Sunday night was a big success. Some of the Relief Society wor kers who attended the convention at Fillmore on Thursday were Mrs. Ruth Jones, Secretary; Mrs. Dawn Porter, second counselor; Mrs. Nel-la Nel-la Jackson, first counselor and Mrs. Deon Erickson, president. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Jones spent Mother's day visiting with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Jones. Miss LeuWanna Bunker and flan cee spent the weekend In Sutherland Suther-land with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Bunker. Gordon and Phillip Moody visit ed with their father and Karen over the weekend. Miss Verlyn Moody has returned from Indiana, where she has been employed for awhile. Ben Stephenson of Ventura, Cal., came in Saturday to get his wife Lorraine, and son. They have 'been spending several weeks in Utah with relatives. Don Johnson, who Is employed away from home, visited with his wife, Tenna, and family, Dennis, Stephen and Shauna. Mrs. Kathryn Thomas and Mrs. Janet Stanworth and their children child-ren spent Mother's Day with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sanford, and Phyllis Ann. Mrs. Dorothy Judd and small daughter are visiting with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Brumley. Mr. M. J. Moody and Karen attended at-tended a wedding reception at Provo on Saturday night, for Lois Lockhead. Mr. and Mrs. Auer Jensen and son, Gary, visited with their families, fami-lies, Mr. and Mrs. John Wind and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jensen. The Sunday evening program was conducted by Rulon Jones, Counselor, with Bishop Tippetts presiding and sponsored by Ralph Crafts. High Councilman Ormus Dutson was unable to attend because be-cause of unforseen out of town business. The program was very good. Talks were given by Mrs. Ruth Steele, second counselor in the stake Primary, and Mrs. Melba Crafts, president - of the stake Primary. Pri-mary. Mrs. Steele commented on the large attendance of young children and the valuation of time. She commended the Sutherland Ward Primary presidency and teachers tea-chers on their successful training of young children and read a trf-bute trf-bute to Mothers. Mrs. Crafts talked on reverence shown In the homes, to mother, father, children and to God. She admonished people to read good books and choose good programs, to beware of being victimized vic-timized by campaigns to break down standards. Mrs. Deona Black and her daughter, Lorene, sang a duet, accompanied by Linda Walker Wal-ker and Mrs. Black also san? a solo, accompanied by her daughter. With the cleanliness that comes with spring, with a humility of heart and a willingness of spirit, (we can have on earth, we can have In life), the faith, the hope, the sweet and everlasting assurance assur-ance that this blessed spring season sea-son suggests. If the Creator should stop creating, (or the laws of chance take over) we would not know if there would ever be an- OAK CITY Mrs. Mae H. Shipley Mother's Day at Sunday School was largely attended. Many visitors visi-tors were present to enjoy the good program. Gifts of hankies and flower sprays were given to each mother. At sacrament services Sunday evening the visiting speakers were Lathel Callister of the High Council Coun-cil and Mr. and Mrs. Mark. Two Christensen 'boys and a Callister boy sang two lovely trios. The program was very enjoyable. Mr. Reed Talbot also spoke for a few minutes. They are moving to St. George to make their new home. A nice farewell party was sponsored spon-sored by the High Priest quorum Saturday evening. Refreshments were served to the many friends of the Reed Talbot family. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley had their daughters, Geniel and Verna Mae and their children, visiting them several days this week. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Christensen and children visited in Magna and other places in Utah the past week. Mrs. Genieve Blanchard is visit ing with her children for a month or more. other Spring. But the Creator still keeps creation on its course and Spring is the symbol of faith. Howard Dutson's Sunday School class had a canyon party Friday night. The young people report having fun. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Arnold and children, the Dr. Moody family and the Ferrin Bliss family all ate Mother's Day dinner with their mother, Mrs. Lydia Finlinson and others of the family living in Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Shipley and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Day visited in Oak City foor Mother's Day. Other visitors noticed Mother's Day were the Orin Finlinson fam-ilv. fam-ilv. Monan Lovell family, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Call Jr., Marion Anderson family, Lenor Finlinson family, Mr. nnd Mrs. Dean Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence East and Joleen, Ha Christensen and children and Mr. and Mrs. Orlan Jacobson and family. fam-ily. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Harris had their daughters, Diane and Jean home, also. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Christensen had their daughter, Ardella, and son, Richard, home for Mother's Day.
