Photo by Kalyn Secretan No one was injured in a fire at 539 No. 400 East last Thursday. The home is owned by Norma Fugal and damage was estimated between $60,000 and $80,000. Mark Hales, the owner of the quilt in a box and nut it damage to the home and in the garage before she left home. Sgt. Liddiard, of the Pleasant Grove police department, reported the fire was still under investigation, investi-gation, but, with the smoke the home, Norma Fugal, had used a hair blower and then placed it on a quilt. It caused the quilt to catch fire and she thought she had put out the fire and put the loss of the car, garage, and kitchen, total damages were estimated at about $75,000. Marcella Walker also contributed to this story. A suspected case of animal neglect is being investigat ed in Lindon after police received a call about some horses hors-es in distress. When officers arrived they found one horse had apparently tried to get a drink and had fallen into a ditch. It could not get out and was nearly dead. The officers offi-cers had to put it down. Three other horses Were also at the same location and were not considered to be in good condition. Evidence at the scene indicated that the horses hors-es may not have had sufficient food. The police have been trying to find the owner of the horses but they have not yet had success. Incidents involving large, animals are investigated by the Utah County Sheriff's Office and local officers are assisting as needed, according to Lt. Cody Cullimore. In other police matters, a Pleasant Grove resident reported the theft of some elk, moose and deer antlers form the roof of a shed located near his home. No value was placed on the antlers. A Pleasant Grove business reported that three vending vend-ing machines were damaged when they were apparently vandalized by a sledge hammer which was found at the scene. The damage to the machines was estimated at $420. An Orem resident reported that several items were taken from a home under construction in Pleasant Grove. The tools were valued at $220. A man taking a walk noticed a glass door had been broken in a building on State Street in Pleasant Grove and called police. There was no indication of what was used to break the glass. Someone drove into the back of a school bus when it stopped for the light at 100 E. 1100 North in Pleasant Grove. There was $2,000 damage to the car but no damage dam-age was listed for the bus. No one was injured. Thanksgiving Tonight Layer one: 1 14 cup chopped celery 34 cup chopped onion 12 cup butter 1 tsp poultry seasoning 14 tsp ground sage '" salt and pepper to taste 6 cups dry bread cubes 34 -1 cup chicken broth Layer Two: 5 chicken or 4 turkey breast halves 1 tsp garlic powder 2 cans cream of chicken soup 14 cup sour cream Layer Three: . 6-7 peeled potatoes 12 cup sour cream 4 oz. Cream cheese 1 tsp salt 14 tsp pepper 1 12 cup grated cheese Saute the celery and onion in butter.. Place dry bread cubes in a large bowl and sprinkle with seasonings. Add onion mixture and toss with enough chicken broth to moisten. Spread dressing in bottom of 9 x 12-inch 12-inch baking pan. In large pot, boil chicken in water with garlic powder until done. Drain and cut into pieces. In medium size bowl, add soup, sour cream and chopped chicken. Stir and spread over dressing mix. Boil the potatoes in salt water until tender. Drain and whip with sour cream and cream cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste. Spread over chicken mixture. mix-ture. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in 350 degree oven 45 minutes.
