Show New Utah! - Wednesday, November 1 , 2000 - Page 22 Obituaries Maude Roberts Lerena Maude Jacobson Roberts, 96, of American Fork, Utah passed away on Friday, October 27, 2000 at the Riverside Nursing Home in Missoula, MT. Maude was born February 23, 1904 to Joseph Hyrum William Jacobsen and Eliza Augusta Lim of Pleasant Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Joseph Roberts and their son Max, who died as a young child. Maude is survived by three sons: Ralph Eugene Roberts, Fallbrook, CA; Merrill Joseph Roberts, Logan, UT; and Glade William Roberts, Missoula, MT. At most recent count, she had 18 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Maude was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions in the Primary and Relief Society and as a visiting teacher. Maude was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Latona Club. She was a faithful volunteer in the Pink Ladies at the American Fork, Utah hospital. hospi-tal. Maude enjoyed music, gardening, embroidery and beautiful flowers. She taught her children and her grandchildren grand-children a true love of nature and all therein. She was gentle, gen-tle, patient, and ever caring of her family. Their achievements achieve-ments and successes were her greatest pleasures. Funeral services were Tuesday October 31, 2000 at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, American Fork . Following the services Maude was interred at the American Fork City Cemetery beside her beloved husband Ralph. Virginia Durrani Green mi" w i.,.ipi Virginia Durrant Green, Midvale, Utah resident, returned to her Heavenly father on October 25, 2000 at the age of 89. She was born in American Fork, Utah on March 18, 1911, the daughter daugh-ter of William Albert and Eliza Conder Durrant. She married Hershel C. Green on June 4, 1930 in Farmington, Utah and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Hershel preceded preced-ed her in death on December 31, 1981. Virginia and Hershel had three children, Paul D. Green; Lois E. Green; and Kenneth D. Green who lived with her. Virginia liked children very much. She was the grandmother to four children; seven great grandchildren; and one great, great grandson. grand-son. She was active in the LDS Church, serving as a Primary President and in the MIA; she was also a member of the DUP, Archibald Gardner Camp. A former resident res-ident of Bingham Canyon and West Jordan, she has resided in Midvale for many years. She is survived by a son, Kenneth D. Green, Midvale; daughter, Lois E. Smith, West Valley City; daughter-in-law, Delpha Green, Midvale. Preceded in death by a son, Paul D. Green; parents; seven brother and five sisters. Funeral services were Saturday, October 28, 2000 in the Goff Mortuary. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. Marilyn Jean Holmstead Marilyn Jean Nuttall Holmstead, age 70, passed away Monday, October 30, ZUUU m Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born June 19, 1930 in American Fork, Utah; daughter of Floyd Dean and Grace Jeanette Hunter Nuttall. She married Richard O. Holmstead; later divorced. Marilyn devoted her whole life to her children, grandchildren, mother, and sisters. She is survived by her children, Randy and Annette Holmstead of Farmington and Barry Holmstead of Murray; grandchildren, Joshua (Joanna) Shidasha, Sarah, and Peder; sisters, Janet Hancey of Centerville and Nancy Crookston of New Jersey. Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 2, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. at the American Fork Cemetery. She was a joy in her mother's eye, and was excited about expecting her third child. Nita, an active member of the LDS Church in Lehi, was also a member of the Southern California Mormon Choir and traveled throughout the world spreading joy through song. She had fond memories of Israel, New Zealand, studying study-ing Church books, and working work-ing as an ordinance worker in the Los Angeles, Jordan, and Mt. Timpanogos temples where she discovered eternal friends. Visiting with her sons and grand kids brought great joy to her life quq.
