There are a few items in this article which do not correspond corre-spond with the way things really are. A group of citizens were accused of not presenting present-ing both sides of the question. This group has urged the citizens citi-zens to purchase a copy of the ordinance and read it, many portions have been read and discussed at meetings around county is to inform them --now --now I ask you, Mr. Yukus Inouye, how does this compare with the County's role of informing in-forming us? You might have stated in the article that only approximately approximate-ly 25 copies of the ordinance was originally printed to inform in-form the entire County population popula-tion not to mention the "one" official map plus one public hearing which, by the way, was held on opening day of General Conference October 1, 1976 at 10:00 a.m. One side of the question is the ordinance in its present form. It would seem this group of citizens have put more efforts ef-forts into seeing the public were informed about this side than the Commissioners or the planning commission! The other side is the fact that we feel the ordinance is not in the best interests of the citizens who own property, or those who might want to own property in the unincorporated areas of the county. (Not a cup of honey for the city residents either; I wonder who they have in mind to make up the tax base which would be lost through the Al, CE1, CE2 zones etc ???) Now then, by presenting your side of the question-we have very effectively presented present-ed our side because most everyone ever-yone who reads this document finds it too restrictive, discriminatory discri-minatory and right down disgusting dis-gusting to say the least. You have suggested this group is against zoning period-Mr. Inouye, we are for AH , 4-T C on Jarnagin, Allyson Miller, Kevin Runolfson, Terry Jensen, Jen-sen, Benjie West, Jay Hafen. Students performing in the afternoon session program were Lucinda Johnson. Stacy Biesinger, Sharina Stubbs, UTC Driver Training Course Starts in Jan. The January driver training course for adults who have never driven before or who do not now have a driver's license will begin Monday, January 3rd, at Utah Technical College at Provo. Utah law now requires that an approved driver education course be taken before initial issuance of a driver's license. The Utah Tech course fills this requirement. Classwork will begin and registration take place at 5:30 that evening in the driver training portion of the college, located just inside the west entrance to the south wing of the college. The classes will what is best for the people and "No Zoning" would create chaos; however, I must admit there are places in the County where "no zoning" would probably be sufficient for many years to come. Zoning which is too restrictive will create problems of equal magnitude mag-nitude as this type of zoning robs the people of their rights and most of us will only tolerate toler-ate that to a point, then we fight back. You indicated we have misrepresented the proposed changes-I can tell you for a fact-five days after receiving my copy of proposed changes from the Commissioners office, of-fice, they were read and discussed dis-cussed at a meeting in Lehi to approximately 300 citizens in attendance on December 14, 1976. Now County Commissioners, if your intentions were as stated, stat-ed, why was the ordinance passed in its original form without these changes of "good faith," which by the way are still too restrictive, discriminatory, and infringe upon people's rights and freedoms. free-doms. When something is wrong-making some changes doesn't make it half right. Now if you haven't already guessed, I am a citizen against this zoning ordinance and land use document as presently written. I would like to express my g.-atitude to those citizens who started opposing this document in the beginning and educating some of the rest of us as to what was taking place. You might say--1 have become one oi tnem. I encourage all county citizens citi-zens to read and become informed in-formed on this zoning ordinance. ordin-ance. Do your best to be in attendance to (he public hearing hear-ing to voice your opinions. The County has scheduled this hearing for January 31, 1977. Watch the papers for the tinv and place-likely 10:00 a.m. in room 311 in the County Building. Build-ing. Now Mr. Commissioners, I am sure your jobs there are not easy. However, in carrying out your duties and responsibilities responsibi-lities I hope you don't overlook the rights and freedoms of the citizens of this fine county.
