Show r -f : ? 1 ! j p-tu f III Nf- ! t- - 1; 1 mi m. 1 .... 3 STEVE HOLLEY, driver, Paul Pulley, navigator; place in the Explorer Road Rally. and Sherwood Cook, observer, took first Winners Named in Tri-Dislrict Explorer Road Ralley; Drive Over 119 Miles On April 25 a Tri-District (Lehi, Alpine, Timpanogos) Explorer Ex-plorer Road Rally was held. The route began in Pleasant Grove and then moved to Springville, Pay-son, Pay-son, Eureka, Vernon, Faust, and ended in American Fork. There were 119 miles involved in the route, which took a little over three hours of driving time. There were 28 cars entered in the rally. Over 100 Ensigns and Explorers participated. They served as drivers, observers, navigators, ?ar inspectors, timers, and flagmen. An awards banquet concluded the rally, with over 100 boys attending. The rally is being sponsored throughout the nation by Lincoln-Mercury Lincoln-Mercury Divison of Ford Motor Company, and the Exploring Division Di-vision of B.S.A. The five district winners will now compete in Council finals in June. Winners of the Council Meet may be invited to enter the Grand National Finals, where the winners ill each receive a 1971 Mercury Cougar to drive for one year. First place winners in the rally were Steve Holley, Paul Pulley and Sherwood Cook from American Fork Twelfth Ward. They received an official road rally jacket. Third place went to Mike Mc Donald, Bill Harper, Jeff Howarth of the Lindon Ward. Fourth place went to Krag Parker, Paul Parker, Don Bar of Training School Parents Meeting Sunday, May 24 The annual membership meeting meet-ing of the Utah State Training School Parent-Lay Organization will be held at the school onSun-day, onSun-day, May 24, at 11 a.m. The meeting will be held in the school auditorium and will feature a presentation of new programs now in progress at the school. All parents of training school residents, and friends of the school are invited to attend. Other events of the Day include the Spring Festival presented by the school children at 9:30 a.m. in the Amphitheatre and lunch in the basement of the school building at 1 p.m., and individual indivi-dual cottage meetings for cot-t cot-t ag e officers, parents, relatives and frieuds, building supervisors and staff members at 2 p.m. At 3:30 p.m., the Training School LDS Primary Children will present a Sacrament Service Serv-ice program in the chapel the Leh Sixth Ward. Fifth place went to the Lehi Second ward with Larry Ferguson, Fer-guson, Kevin Ferguson, andGay Ferguson. The second through fifth piace winners received Explorer rings.
