Fork Hospital Pink Ladies, Candy Stripers Feted at Banquet Sixty-one Pink Ladies andCan-dy andCan-dy Stripers who give of their time to aid the patients at the American Fork Hospital were honored at the annual Pink Ladies Lad-ies and Candy Stripers Appreciation Apprecia-tion Dinner last Thursday evening. eve-ning. The dinner was held in connection con-nection with National Hospital Week activities and was held in the American Fork LDS Sixth-Eighth-Thirteenth Ward Cultural Cultur-al HalL Presented with Pin Guards for having served over 500 hours during 1969 were Alice Clements and Elolse Ferguson and Verda Peterson. Receiving gucrds for over 400 hours of service was Marvel Peterson. Arlene Nev.man and Evelyn Schoonover also received receiv-ed pin guards. They had served serv-ed over 300 hours. Pink Ladies giving over 200 hours of volunteer service during dur-ing the year were Doreen Webb, Rose Ashton, Arreva Peterson, Duretha Smith, June Peterson, Ftowene Vibbert, Margaret Fad-d's Fad-d's and Marcelene Gauger, and Maxine Peterson. Candy stripers receiving this recognition were Linda Bishop and Laure Jo Bishop. Bish-op. Each received a pin guard. Receiving pins aud certificates for h?"ing donated over IOC hours of their time to the hospital were Pink Ladles Nona Bingham, Mar -celle Skinner, Millie Anderson, Laura Parduhn, Thorma Beer, Alelthea Wing, Rosa Baxter, Jennie Jen-nie Parker, Delia Spafford, Sydonia Frandsen, Fawn Taylor, Beulah Evans, Arvilla Harvey, and Beth Harding. Also Candy Stripers Sheila Barnhart, LaRae Procter, Kathy Jones, Shirlene Houtz, Ginger Brooks, and Carolyn Car-olyn Adams. Certificates were presented to those ser ving under 100 hours. These were presented to Pink Ladies, RaNae Holmstead, La-Wana La-Wana Barnhart, Velda Fox, Mary Shoemaker, Donna Chilton, Betty Robinson, Vergie Anderson, Nor-ine Nor-ine Fox, Edna Nye, Kay Barratt, Carlene Carson, LaRene Ashby, Lee Ann Schoonover, Rosalee Buckles, Margaret Barratt and Emma Parker. Candy Stripers Connie Batch-elor, Batch-elor, Mary Bone, Nancy Burch, Sharlynn Boren, Marcia Anderson, Ander-son, Marcie Walker, Christine Shelley, Edith Rasband, Susan Christensen, Cathie Wood, Linda Hogland, Mary Jo Barratt, Florence Flor-ence AnnSwain, Annette Llewelyn and Sherry Olson, Jan Smith, Bobby Jo Byrnes, Lori Peterson, Karen Taylor, Shirley Austin, Sally Session, and Mary Allen also al-so received certificates. Mrs. Betty McTague, Auxiliary Auxil-iary Co-ordinator at the hospit- JaLlhanked --each for the serv ice they have given. She read the names of those honored with Mayor Neal Savage, Hospital Board Chairman Don C. Overly, and David KJar, assistant administrator admin-istrator at the huspital, presenting present-ing the awards. Mrs. Max (Billie) Ritch, president presi-dent of the Utah State Auxiliary Association, told of the self-satis'action self-satis'action gained through serving serv-ing others. She said she was pleased to be associated with "such a fine group" and invited invit-ed the Pink Ladies to attend the state convention. Mayor ravage said it gave him a "good feeling to see the young people participating in the hospital hos-pital auxiliaries along ith the Pink Ladies. He complimented those serving for the work they are doing. Don C. Overly, American Fork Hospital Board Chairman, expressed ex-pressed the appreciation of board members for the PLikLadie-s and Candy Stripers and the work they do at the hospital. "If we hau to hire the work done that you accomplish, it wouid cost the hospital several thousand dollars a year," he said. Also speaking briefly were Mrs. Verda Peterson, Pink Ladies Lad-ies president and Kathy Tones, president of the Candy Stripers. Mrs. Peterson said she feels we have the "top organization in the state" at the American Fork Hospital. She noted the enthusiasm en-thusiasm with which themembers serve and thanked them for their cooperation in the program. Miss Jones said it Is "fun to serve at tue hospital." Mrs. Fawn Taylor was in charge of the delightful program that followed. Numbers consisted consist-ed of a mirimba solo by Jill Gordon accompanied by Janet Thomas, a piano selection and dance by Colleen Smith, Misr American Fork; a piano solo by Rebecca Smith, a hunurous reading by Mrs. Gladys Williamson; William-son; and a special "SwanDance" by a group of hdies from the American Fork LDS Twelfth Wad. Earl Cropper, American Fork Hospital Personnel Director and coordinator between the hospital and the Pink Ladies, servea as master of ceremonies at the banquet. Introduction of guests was made by Wayne R. McTague, Hospital Administrator and invocation in-vocation was by Mrs. Leona Larson. Lar-son. Special guests included Mayor Savage, Mr. Ovt;ly; Mrs. Creta Blackburn; chairmji of Hospital Week; Mrs. Ritch; E. Russell Innes, :'rs. Dena Grant, Mrs. Ann Shields, Firk Ladies Officers Offic-ers and Candy Stripers Officers. ABOUT FOLKS YOU KNOW Mrs. Perchy Fredrick celebrated cele-brated her 78th birthday cn Wednesday, Wed-nesday, May 13. A delicious luncheon was served and the remainder re-mainder of tho day was spent visiting frionds and relatives who came by to wish her a happy birthday.
