Show INDIAN EAGLE SCOUTS HONORED--Vernon C. Begay, Lehi; Chuck Tortice and Herman Dixon, Lehi, from 1. to r., were honored at the year end Indian Student-Foster Parent Meeing held recently re-cently in Pleasant Grove for having achieved the coveted Eagle rank in Scouting. The boys are participants in the Indian Placement Program. Vernon is thought to be the first Navajo boy to attain the Eagle Rank and Chuck the first boy from the White Mountain Apache Tribe to become an Eagle Scout. 3 Indian Eagle Three Indian Boy Scouts who have attained the rank of Eagle Scout were honored at the year end Indian Student-Foster Parent meeting held in Pleasant Grove recently. Honored were Vernon Begay, Junior High Hobbies Features Doll Collection A doll collection of antique and china dolls owned by Liza Belmont Bel-mont is currently being shown in the display case at the American Amer-ican Fork Junior High School library. li-brary. The display is part of a 25 doll collection owned by Liza. She began the collection when she was four years old and has received at least one each year for Chirsmas, birthdays or other special occasions. Included in the collection are dolls representing famous book characters such as "Gone With the Wind," "Little Women," and nursery rhyme figures. Several foreign countries are also represented repre-sented in the display. Arizona, who lives in the foster home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Peterson of American Fork; and Herman Dixon, foster son of Mr. and Mrs. William Thornton, American Am-erican Fork. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Dixon of Dixon Trading Post, Winslow, Arizona. Vernon is believed to be the first Navajo boy to attain this rank. He received his Eagle approximately six years ago and has since qualified for two Eagle palms.
