Susan Su-san will represent Utah County In the state contest held in November, Nov-ember, as well as participate In community celebrations, chaese caravan held in August and other promotional activities for dairy products in Utah County. Susan will graduate from Spanish Fork High School onMay 28 where she served as Pep Cl'- President, Member of A Cappella Choir, r-um Majorette and was selected as Girl Stater Stat-er She plans to attend Brigham Brig-ham Young University next fall, majoring in the field of Home Economics. Wimmer of American Ameri-can Fork. The bride is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. H. LeRoy Gammon of Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. Leland P. Wimmer of American Fork, are the parents of the bridegroom. In attendance at the ceremony, besides the parents, were the grandparents of the groom, Mrs. Albert Merikofer ar.d Mrs. Hazel Wimmer, with othe relatives and close friends. A wedding breakfast break-fast at the Lion House was hosted host-ed by the parents of the groom. For the reception that evening, in the Lehi Stake Center, blue and white chiffon was used in a background effect, with garden posts and clusters of wedding bells. The graceful young bride greeted her guests in a gown of embroidered silk organza with full length, lace edged train. The standup collar and long sleeves added to the regal effect. Attired in floor length gowns of pastel blue, trimmed with white lace, they wore white daisies dai-sies and baby breath in their hair, and held velvet bows with forest green leaves. The mothers of both bride and groom wore formal gowns of green crepe, with corsages of white roses and stephanotis. Best man's duties were performed per-formed for his cousin by James Robinson. Ushers were John Chesnut, Stephan Rasmussen, Darrell and Harold Wimmer. In charge of serving were Mr. and Mrs. Roger Morton and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McStay. In charge of the gifts were Miss Alene Nielsen, Miss Taunya McStay, Patty McStay Mc-Stay and Vickie Tucker. Foe her honeymoon trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the high Tetons, the new Mrs. Wimmer Wim-mer donned a white knit coat dress with black accessories. The newlyweds are now making their home in American Fork. Mr. Wimmer is employed by the U. S. Forest Service, and Mrs. Wimmer is currently employed at Brigham Young University. Ronald D. Snyder Aboard USS Luce Off Puerto Rico Ronald D. Snyder. USN, American Amer-ican Fork, Utah, is aboard the USS Luce in the Caribbean off Puerto Rico. The ship is participating in a joint service, amphibious and airborne exercise, "Operation Exotic Dancer II." The exercise exer-cise is designed to test and improve existing joint service procedures. Elements of Army and Air Force units as well as Naval ships and aircraft and Marine Corps units are participating in the 14-day operation. Amphibious forces are using both surface, attacks on beaches and airborne assaults with helicopters heli-copters from ships off shore. Mr. and Mrs. Orson H. Rollins Roll-ins of Craig, Colorado, announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter . LaRae, to Ronald L. Broomhead, son of Mr. and Mrs. R- T. Broomhead of Alpine, Utah. The bride-elect is a graduate of Brigham Young University in the college of Nursing. She is presently employed at the LDS Hospital and residency in Salt Lake City. Mr. Broom head is a graduate of the California College of Mortuary Mor-tuary Science and is presently employed at the Curtis-Mackay Cottonwood Mortuary inSalt Lake City. He has fulfilled an LDS mission to the Southwest Indian Mission. A September 19 wedding is being be-ing planned in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Applause is about the best interruption we know. A pessimist is a guy who sizes himself up and gets sore about it. 0 J v " 7 Ronald Broomhead to wed Miss LaRee Rollins Cultural Arts Club Celebrates 21st Birthday The Cultur?l Arts Club celebrated- their 21st Birthday on Monday, May 12, at Duncan Manor Man-or in American Fork. Center of attraction for the affair was the beautiful birthday cake frosted in white with pink rosebuds. Bouquets Bou-quets of lavendar and white lilacs li-lacs with varl-colored tulips set a festivt, atmosphere. President Mrs. F. Haws Dur-fey Dur-fey conducted. Hostesses included includ-ed Mrs. Elliot Lee, chairman; Mrs. Lennis Abel, Mrs. May Bennett, Ben-nett, Mrs. Alma Madsen, and Mrs. VernHolindrake. Mrs. Gene Barker read the club collect and also gave the prayer. Guest for the evening was Mrs. Betty Spencer who gave a delightful delight-ful account of her writing experiences ex-periences and read several of her original works. A singing group from the Eighth Ward sang two numbers, "April Showers," and "Home." They were Vivian Barker, Dessie Wilde, Dorothy Johnson, Golda Gurney, Mary Griffiths, Nancy Reese, Dolly Reese, Helen Abel and Doris Robinson. Also on the program Doris Robinson, Connie Smith and Rebecca Re-becca Smith, sang"Sunrise-Sun-set." Both groups were accompanied accom-panied by Lydia Kirkpatrick. A former member, Mrs. Harold Har-old (Betty) Johnson, resumed her membership in the club and was welcomed back. A delicious buffet supper was served to 20 members present.
