Future Physicians Organize Club, Plan Fund Raising Project The Future Physicians Club of American Fork has been organized organ-ized in cooperation with American Ameri-can Fork High School. The group, however, will continue to function on a year-round basis. Officers include Barry Bateman, Bate-man, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bateman, who is the first president presi-dent of the organization; Craig Terry, son of Mr. and Mrs. La-Dell La-Dell Terry, vice-president; and Jillinda Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hansen, secretary. secre-tary. The group meets weekly at the board room of the American Ameri-can Fork Hospital. The Future Physicians Club was organized by the Essex County (New Jersey) Medical Society in 1960. Since then, hundreds of these clubs have been formed in communities across the United States by other medical societies, in cooperation coopera-tion with school officials. The rapid growth of this movement move-ment was inspired by the interest in-terest of local medical socities and their physician members in attracting the best students into medicine and in giving them practical guidance. Students interested in-terested in careers allied with medicine- public health, nursing, dietetics, physical therapy, pharmacy phar-macy and dentistry, for instance, also are eligible for membership.
