The special sales will begin tomorrow (Thursday) and continue con-tinue through Saturday, June 15. Highlight of the three-day sales event will be the Sidewalk Sales Steals, featuring the irresistible bargains in clothing, vacation Downtown Planning Committee Asks Cooperation of Merchants Members of the Downtown Planning Committee are present ly contacting all local merchants and property owners, asking their cooperation in a sidewalk re placement project in the business district of the community. In a Monday meeting at city hall, the group discussed the most pressing needs in the move to make the area more attractive. It was decided that new sidewalks, curb and gutter and well lighted streets would be a good beginning begin-ning for the Improvement of the downtown area. The city has announced the construction of a new lighting system, which will be completed before fall. Sidewalks in various areas of the downtown district are in bad repair and In need of replacement, replace-ment, It was noted at the Monday meeting, with a committee to visit all businessmen and property owners to ask their cooperation in the improvement project.
