Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Bea Trujillo BASEBALL AND TENNIS SEASON TO START SOON Coming into the high school sports spotlight now that basketball basket-ball season is over, are baseball and tennis. Del Schick is the baseball coach and Cal Crump is the tennis coach. This season's league baseball ;.nd tennis schedule are exactly the same for both sports. The schedule lists ten league games of which five are home and five I are away. I The 1958 schedule for both baseball and tennis, is as fol-' fol-' lows: April 7 Tooele at Bingham; April 10 Bingham at Olympus April 14 Murray at Bingham April 17 Cyprus at Bimgham April 21 Bingham at Jordan April 24 Bingham at Tooele April 28 Jordan at Bingham May 1 Bingham at Cyprus May 3 Bingham at IMurray May 8 Olympus at Bingham Heme games are slated to start about 3:30 p.m. it was reported. Junior Prom Tonight Don't forget, tonight's the night of the Junior Prom. The juniors have been very busy this week planning, preparing and decorating decorat-ing for it. So everyone come out and lets make this one of the biggest dances of the year. The affair starts at 9:00 p.m. and Harold Geertsen's Orchestra will play. Film A Home Room. Guidance film was shown to the senior high on Tuesday during the last part of first period. Basketball Round-up The Binghani Miners did very well in basketball tills season, taking fourth place in Region Four. This was the Miners' first year in Class A competition. Dur- ing the regular season they played play-ed such teams as: Murray, Jordan, Jor-dan, Cyprus, Tooele and Olym-; pus. After losing to Olympus in their last league game the Miners Min-ers -were then tied for fourth place with Tooele. This necessitated necessi-tated a play off game between Bingham and Tooele which was j played in the Cyprus High gym! on 'March 5th with the Miners i taking Tooele to gain fourth place. The Miners then had to play Orem, the fourth place winner win-ner of Region Six, to determine which team would qualify to play in the state Class A tournament. tourna-ment. This game was played in the Provo High gym on March 7, and was won by the 'Miners by a 10-point margin, gaining for them the last tourney -berth in the Class A tournament.
