Joe Jensen and Joel Perkins have joined the OHS administrative admin-istrative team and both men bring a unique perspective to the school. This is Perkins' first year as a full time administrator and he has found that the school's tradition of both academic and athletic excellence is one he is pleased to work with. "I've been really impressed by the students here and I'm excited to work with them," he said. Jensen, on the other hand, was previously an adminis trator at Oak Canyon Junior High and said his biggest challenge chal-lenge is building the human relationships that are critical to an administrator's work. ' Both Jensen and Perkins acknowledge ac-knowledge that every school is unique, and understanding a school's character is a key to working well with other administrators, ad-ministrators, faculty members, parents and students. "Getting to know the culture and history of the school is a big part of moving to a new school so you can step in and make a contribution," Perkins said. To build connections with their new school, Perkins and Jensen attended a meet and greet with the OHS faculty in May and they have both made efforts during these first few weeks of the school year to be very visible and accessible acces-sible to students and teachers by walking the hallways and visiting classrooms. I went to a concert this past week of Keith Urban and it seems like I am still trying to get back into the routine of school and keeping up with the homework and balancing work. The concert itself was good though. The seats weren't the best, but that is what the big screen they have is for. I went with a friend of mine for her birthday and we had a great time. There were plenty of hicks there; drunk hicks, at that, which can be entertaining to watch. There was this one girl a few rows down from us who was dancing and screaming the whole time even during slow-paced songs. The opening ad was not the greatest; a bit tx country for my liking, but then again most ojxining acts are never all that great. I don't know who the girl was and if I saw her on the street would have no idea it was her. I should have used that time to take a nap, especially since Keith didn't even come out for a while after she finished. ily Plot how for details. (801) 407-8505 I recommend that all school is done and if possible do the next days homework as well. Or I should have brought up homework, especially had I known that I would be sick after af-ter the concert and miss school the next day. I got home around midnight and was in no shape to go to school the next morning so when my alarm went off I immediately turned it off and went back to sleep. So although it was certainly worth it to go, I recommend that all school Ls done and if possible do the next days homework as well if you plan on attending a concert. (I will never know why they can't just schedule all concerts for the weekend.) If you don't plan ahead you will end up like me, a procras-tinator, procras-tinator, and still catching up on all the work I missed.
