She was concentrating all of her attention on a ball sitting just a few feet away, awaiting a critical Bruin penalty kick. "I've never been so focused," Tucker explained. "I wasn't listening listen-ing to anything except my friend Brianne (Larsen) who kept saying, 'it's easy.' Then she kicked it and I reacted. Every thing blurred until I hit the ball." Tucker's dramatic stop of the penalty pen-alty kick kept Orem on top, resulting result-ing in the 2-0 victory in the Region 7 opener for the Tigers. "Aly Tucker came up really big for us," said Tiger head coach Ed Louder. "She anticipated the right direction, di-rection, then made a diving save later lat-er on. I think that deflated their attack. at-tack. If they had scored, it would've been a different game out there." Only five minutes after the penalty kick, Mountain View got another great chance to score the equalizer after a mix-up on the Orem back line. Kordell's got nothin' on Riverton's Aaron Jaussi after Friday night's season-opening football game at Timpanogos. Jaussi, the Silverwolves' quarter-backcornerbackkickerpunter quarter-backcornerbackkickerpunter did it all for his team, including making the game-winning field goal with 22 seconds remaining to send Riverton home with a 27-24 victory. "He doesn't leave the field, he gets a rest on kick returns." j In addition to converting pn the game-winning kick, Jaussi lushed for a touchdown, intercepted a pass, converted a first down on a fake punt, pinned Timpanogos back with several nice punts and guided River-ton's River-ton's Wing-T offense to perfection. And Jaussi's team needed every bit of his stellar effort to hold off a furious T'Wolf comeback. , Trailing 21-3 with just over 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Timpanogos got going. Grant Jimenez, who was playing in his first varsity game after not playing last year, started the rally by catching two passes for 75 yards on the next drive. Jimenez's second sec-ond grab was a 45-yard touchdown catch that came one play after he was lit up on a crossing route over the middle. "I felt like we had the jitters in the first half, but in the second half we settled down and got things going," Mo-len Mo-len said. "There were a lot of encouraging things I saw tonight. It's not a league game, so we can learn from our mistakes and correct them." Brad Molen TIMPANOGOS FOOTBALL COACH "It felt good to kind of pay them back for that hit," Jimenez said. "Never take a play off cuz if you do, our offense will get ya." The T'Wolves got the ball back on the Riverton 24-yard line after Garrett Gar-rett Coleman recovered a fumble.
