"It is all fix)d that families enjoy." Moss said. I he food comes in small containers that Moss said fit almost anywhere in a home. "When people get food storage stor-age in live gallon buckets, it is so hard to fit them anywhere," Moss said. "Our packages are small enough to fit under beds, in pantries, pretty much anywhere any-where you want to put them." All of the recipes are also just add-water, to make them a litt le easier, and they have a shelf life of 20 years. The Ready Project's concept is that customers can sign up and have a different food item shipped to their home every month for $25. They change the typo of food every month so that the food builds up, giving giv-ing a variety in the food storage. stor-age. The business is set up in a party method, where those interested host parties for their friends in their homes. The Ready Project sends a representative to each party to showcase the f(X)ds. "We have been open since April 1, and we have already had parties in Southern California, Cali-fornia, Arizona and Idaho as well as throughout Utah," Moss said. Through their Web site, the group has also had requests for parlies as far as Chicago, New Jersey and Texas. In the future, the group plans to add other emergency essential products into their product list, like filters, heaters and stoves. "Basically, we just want people peo-ple to not feel so overwhelmed by the food storage preparation prepara-tion process," Moss said. "We can make it really simple to be prepared." f ( K if Jr 'J'SX &S rwiiiiii , 'J'' The Ready Project Dan Moss and Rick Bliss, owners of The Ready Project, stand with samples of their meal ready food storage. Am.rk.tJT 4(X)3 V Family First Credit Union makes donation Four local branches of Family Fam-ily First Credit Union have made $300,000 contributions to Learning for Life, an effort to assist area schools. The company chose the number for a reason, said Kate Whitaker, assistant to the president of the company. "It represents $100,000 for each generation of members we have served since we were established in 1947," she said. "This year is the commemoration com-memoration of our 60th year. All four of our branch locations loca-tions held celebrations." The cost to sponsor one classroom in the Learning for Life program is $300,000. "The programs help with character building, ethical practices, and developing good habits of responsibility," she said. Brad Tanner, manager of the American Fork branch of the company, said they have stressed an involvement in education. "We represent a resource where people can learn and grow with their financial situation," situ-ation," he said. "We are also involved in education and financial literacy." "We specified the donation from the American Fork office of-fice would be used in our immediate im-mediate service area," he said. Anita Keller of Learning for Life said the sponsorship sponsor-ship would help the schools throughout the year. "Once a week a mentor presents a lesson," she said. "They may be on positive character traits, career development, devel-opment, or skills." She said they work with individual schools to focus the training so it fits with their curriculum. "It helps the kids," she said. "They see how it fits in their life, not just one more thing they are supposed to study and learn." After the weekly sessions, they present a "Hope assembly" assem-bly" at the end of the school year.
