Ivins will be celebrating his 80th birthday with a special open house on Saturday. Sat-urday. August. 25th from 5 to 8pm at the Ivins' home, 1020 East 700 North, American Fork. Guy was born August. 23, 1927 in Murray, Utah to Heber Grant and Bertha Hamblin Ivins. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. Guy graduated from BYU with a degree in Economics. I le was self-employed for several years then in 1058 was elected Utah County Assessor. Guy later served as Slate Director of the Office Of-fice of Economic Opportunity and was Chief of Right of Way for the Department of Transportation for 12 years. Guy owned successful car washes in Vernal. Pleasant Grove and American Fork for many years. He currently serves on the American Fork City Beaut if icat ion Committee and the Neighborhood Preservation Committee. Com-mittee. Guy enjoys working in his yard and spending time with his family, fam-ily, lie was an active member of the American Fork Jaycees for many years and is a past President Presi-dent of Alpine Country Club. Guy is married to Norma Wells and they are the parents of 3 children: chil-dren: Raymond (Christine), Mark (Lynnette), and Robyn (Derek) Price.
