Certainly they deserve to celebrate. They have managed to survive years of life's ups and downs together. Not many people make it through the first seven years, let alone 10 times that number. num-ber. Over that period of time, they have built a legacy that cannot be measured in material possessioas, but rather the lives they have touched through their union. Homer and Blanche were married mar-ried July 14, 19 in Union, Utah. From a sheepherder's camp to Bingham coal mines, to Simm's Ranch, to production at Geneva Steel, to the bliss and challenge of retirement years, Homer and Blanche have shared the adventures adven-tures of life together Together they have called Crovo home for 58 years They are the parents of four children, I;an (Pat) Benson, Orem; Kathleen (Steve) Nielsen, ()rern; Arda (Scott) Ijelstrom, Salt Lake City; Nyra (Jamie) Ward, Pleasant Grove They have been blessed with 22 grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom they are very proud of. In their life, I hey have been surrounded sur-rounded by good people who have given them additional strength during challenging and happy times These friendships have helped them create special lifetime memories Their family, bowling friends, dancing friends, church friends, club friends, and good neighbors have played an important impor-tant role in their lives. T I X ' " Gardiner, 60th Bill and Colleen Gardiner will be honored at an open house Saturday, Sat-urday, July 15, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. it will be held at the church at 828 South Locust Avenue in Pleasant Grove. They were married July 15, 1946 in Provo, and later solemnized solem-nized in the Salt Lake Temple. Bill served in the Marines during World War II in the Pacific. He retired from Geneva Steel after working there for 40 years. Col-lene Col-lene worked at several places. The Gardiner's have held many callings in the Church; served over five years in the Provo Temple, served a mission to the Florida, Tampa mission and three stake missioas. Colleen served in the Timpanogos Temple until a year ago. They have a wonderful family of six children, 22 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Everyone is welcome. He plans to continue his graduate study in the medical field. For his Eagle service project, he installed cabinets, assembled desks, and moved the Business and Marketing Department to the new American Fork High School addition. He is in the 9th grade at American Ameri-can Fork Junior High. He plays trombone in the Wind Ensemble at AF Junior High and the baritone bari-tone for the AF High School Marching Band.
