She is a member of the Timpview Tenth Ward. Her projects included making quilts for homeless shelter, cleaning clean-ing the kitchen at the church and serving as seminary president. The first carbonated soft drink was created by Or. Philip Syng Physick in Philadelphia in 1807. Dr. Physick used the fizzy water to treat his patients. Shane Hardy called to Edmonton, Canada mission Shane R. Hardy, son of Joe and Calleen Hardy of Lindon, has been called to serve in the Edmonton, Canada mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will speak at a farewell sacrament sac-rament service Sunday, March 25, 2001 at 2:50 p.m. in the Lindon 14th Ward 25 North Main Street, Lindon. After the meeting, family and friends are invited to come visit with Elder Hardy at 35 E. 400 No. Lindon. Elder Hardy will enter the Missionary Mis-sionary Training Center on March 28, 2001. S 2 " ' 7 m y I f I 1 ; ; & t.,;L j Zachary Strong called to Hawaii Zac Strong, the son of Bill and Stacy Strong, has been called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Honolulu, Hawaii Mission. He will be speaking in sacrament sacra-ment meeting on March 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the Canyon View Fourth Ward, 800 East 1200 North, Orem. Elder Strong will be entering the Missionary Training Center on April 25, 2001. Zac graduated from Orem High School. It is very useful to struggle with the habit of giving immediate expression to all of one's unpleasant emotions. Georges Gurdjieff ZACHARY STRONG Olsen named to dean's list Rober Olsen of Orem has earned a place on the dean's list for the 2000 fall semester, announced an-nounced Dr. Barbara G. Wells, dean of the Idaho State University Univer-sity College of Pharmacy. To obtain this ranking, a student stu-dent must be in the top 15 percent per-cent of the class, and be a full-time student enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours during the semester. RSVP looking for volunteers The Retired and Senior volunteer volun-teer Program (RSVP) is looking for volunteers to help in the automotive au-tomotive department at Mountain Moun-tain View High School. The class is held daily from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Basic knowledge of "old time' automotive repair is all that is necessary. You could work one or more days each week. Insurance and lunch are provided. Also needed are volunteers to help at the Literacy Center, located lo-cated in the Orem Friendship Center. These volunteers are needed for afternoon one-on-one tutoring with both children and adults.
