The company is comprised of ballet students from throughout Utah County and rehearses in Spanish Fork. In recognition of it's artistic contribution UVCBC was awarded a grant from the Utah Arts Council to help fund this production. "Coppelia" is often considered con-sidered the great comedy of classical clas-sical ballet. The irony-filled story line unfolds when villagers begin to think the doll, begin so lifelike, is actually the mysterious - toymaker's daughter. Franz is particularly Proporty trade outlined The Orem City Council recently gave its stamp of approval ap-proval to a property trade between be-tween Alpine School District and the Orem Fitness Center. For the Fitness Center to expand ex-pand its parking lot, it was necessary to move an electrical transformer from city property onto Alpine School District property located at Mountain View High School. The school also gave up some land to the parking lot expansion. The district dis-trict prepared a quit-claim deed for the parcel. . In exchange, the city is giving up land adjacent to the MV gymnasium. smitten with Coppelia. Through an array of near misses, Swanil-da Swanil-da tricks Franz and Dr. Cop-pelius Cop-pelius into thinking she's really the doll that comes to life. The ballet also includes several folk dance numbers choreographed to give the production a folk flavor with ballet grace, and beauty. While building a pantry cabinet in his home wood shop, Errol Smith, business administrator ad-ministrator for Nebo School District, Dis-trict, was injured while attempting attempt-ing to force a board that had lodged in the blade of his table saw. His fingers slipped into the teeth of the saw severely cutting two fingers and completely severing the middle finger. Smith's surgeon said he would probably never regain mobility in the middle finger. It has only been two weeks since Smith has undergone reconstructive surgery and he already has 50 percent of active movement in his middle finger. Smith is regaining mobility thanks to surgeons, medical technology and the expertise of UVRMC'8 new hand physical therapist, Mike Groneman. After the second post-op day, Groneman, a certified physical therapist, put Smith's hand into a Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machine, which is similar to rehabilitation equipment for knee replacements. The machine gently moves the fingers back and forth reducing swelling while increasing motion. mo-tion. Groneman said the CPM machine keeps tendons sliding while the healing process takes place. Smith takes the CPM machine home and wears it for one hour four times a day. Smith explained that therapy has taught him how to make the changes in his life necessary to regain the range of motion, strength and mobility in his hands that will allow him to once again enjoy golfing and cabinetry. Tm surprised how well the body heals itself when you have somebody working with you who knows how to enhance the healing heal-ing process," Smith said. Groneman, along with Gordon Gor-don Heinz, director of occupational occupa-tional therapy at UVRIuC, treat traumatic hand injuries, reconstructive surgeries, fractures, frac-tures, lacerated tendons, crush injuries, infections and hand wounds. They also do custom splinting to correct deformities and protect injured joints and tissue. |
