Show Edwin Mitchell Edwin William Mitchell, 67, of Orem, died Saturday, May 21, 1983 at his home. He was born Nov. 16, 1915 in Park City to Angus and Mary Ann Lunceford Mitchell. He married Margaret E. Peery on Nov. 24, 1944 in Salt Lake City. She died Dec. 13, 1980. Mitchell was raised and received his early education in Park City. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem. Army during World War II. He worked in the mine in Lark and the Walker Mine in Calif. He attended barber school in Salt Lake City and began barbering in Provo before moving to Orem. He had been a barber in Orem for the past 27 years before recently retiring. He was also a farmer. He was an Elder in the LDS Church, Orem Fourth Ward. Survivors include two sons and two daughters, Bob Mitchell and Glenn Mitchell, both of Orem; Mrs. Lee (Peggy) Jennings, Mrs. Randy (Kathleen) Jennings, both of Mid vale; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Vern Mitchell, Orem. One sister, Catherine Daniels, preceded him in death. Funeral was Wednesday in Orem. Burial in Orem City Cemetery. Serena Christensen Serena H. Christensen, 96, of Orem, died Friday, May 20, 1983 in the home of her daughter, Elma Sylvester in Orem. She was born March 23. 1887 in Li He served in the Wade Davis died LMJ Wade Andrew Davis, 65, Monday, May 23, 1983 in Orem. He was born Jan. 20, 1918 in Orem to Homer and Molly Marie Jackson Davis. He married Dora Mae Beck on Sept. 24,1941 in Ely, Nev. The marriage later was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. Mr. Davis was a World War II veteran and received the Purple Heart and Congressional Medal of Honor. He was an elder in the LDS Church. He retired from Geneva Steel after 22 years ol work. He owned several fruit stands and with his wife, he also operated several restaurants in Utah County. .Survivors include his wife of American Fork; two sons and six daughters, Mr.s Ben (Connie) Barnes and Mrs. Kurt (Barbara) Peterson, both of Salt Lake City; Stephen Wade Davis, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Brad (Debra) Wilkin, Mrs. Steven (Patricia) Jerz, Susan Diamond and Kevin Andrew Davis, all of American Fork; Mrs. David (Annette) Stokes, Orem; 21 grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Stewart, Provo. Funeral will be Thursday. 11 a.m. at Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel in American Fork. Friends may call Thursday, one hour prior to service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery. Walter Morgan Walter Frank Morgan Sr., 81, died of a heart attack in his home in Midvale on Thursday, May 19, 1983. He was the father of W. Frank Morgan, Jr., Orem. Graveside services were Tuesday at Saotaquin City Cemetery. Norway to Johannes and Engel Johannesen Hammersmark. She married Lars Henry Christensen on March 29, 1911, in the Logan LDS Temple. He died Oct. 10, 1955. & - Mrs. Christensen joined the Mormon Church when she was 12. She was graduated from a nursing school, immigrated to America and settled in Mink, Idaho. While living there, she served as a midwife. After her husband's death, she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Bui nise Mecham in Pocatello, Idaho, and with her daughter Elma Sylvester in Salt Lake City, Wyoming, Florida and Orem. She presented her handiwork to many people including afghans for former president Richard Nixon, Gov. Aschew of Florida, Sen. Frank Church of Idaho, and Sen. Henry Jackson of Oregon. Survivors include four sons and three daughters, Allen J. Lloyd and Carl Christensen, both of Mink Creek, Idaho; Mr Genet Johansen, Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; Mrs. Elma Sylvester, Orem; Mrs. Burnise (VaLora) Mecham, Pocatello, Idaho; Jewel Christensen, Bountiful; a brother, Jacob Johannesen, Pocatello, Idaho; 36 grandchildren; 124 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. A son, Lester Christensen, and a daughter, Mrs. Virgil Hohman, preceded her in death. Funeral will be Thursday, May 26, 1 p.m. in the Mink Creek LDS Ward Chapel. Bessie Strong Bessie Isabel Stewart Strong, 76, of Provo, died Wednesday, May 18, 1983. She was the mother of Mrs. Jack (Janice) Connelly of Orem. Funeral was Saturday in Provo. Burial was in Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Edmond Parkinson Edmond West Parkinson, 81, of Orem, died Sunday, May 22, 1983 in a local hospital. He was born May 20, 1902 in Preston, Idaho to edmond Smart and Ada West Parkinson. He married Ina Creer on June 1924 in Salt Lake marriage later s , was solemnized I in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He attended Idaho schools and was graduated with a bachelor's from BYU in 1924. He attended George Washington U. Law School from which he was graduated in 1928. After graduation he moved to Kexburg, Idaho and was elected prosecuting attorney for Madison County. He later became city attorney for several years. After that, he received his degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence, specializing in Labor Law from Harvard University. He worked with the U.S. Department of Labor until his retirement. As a U.S. Judge, he heard cases in all 50 states as well as Puerto Rico. For his work in the Department of Labor he recieved the Distinguished Service Award. He moved to Orem in 1979 and was a member of the LDS Church. At the time of his death, he was a high priest in the Orem 73rd Ward. He served in various capacities including president of the M I A. Survivors include his wife of Orem; one son, David Creer Parkinson, Provo; 10 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters. Van W. Parkinson, Blackfoot, Idaho; Mr.s Wendell (Grace) Tout, Hemmet, Calif.; Mrs. Earl (Edith) Schow and Mrs Ruth Peterson, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, Roger West Parkinson, preceded him in death. Funeral will be Thursday, 11 a.m. in the Walker Mortuary Chapel in Provo, 85 E. 300 S. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday one hour before service. Burial will be in Larkin Sunset Gardens, Salt Lake City, liememberances may be made to BYU Law School Scholarship Fund. Joseph Murdock Joseph S. Murdock, 76, died Friday, May 20, 1983, in a Heber City Hospital. He was the brother of Bert Murdock of Orem. Funeral was Monday in Heber City. Burial in Midway Cemetery.
