She was born Sept. 21, 1913 in Franklin, 111. to Andrew Jackson and Neaty Wilkerson Beerup. She married Gilbert James Cook on Nov. 15, 1930 in Los Angeles, Calif. She was a member of the IDS Church and lived in the Pleasant Grove 10th Ward. Survivors include her husband of Pleasant Grove; three sons and a daughter, Barbara Mae Larsen, Los Angeles, Calif.; Gilbert E. Cook, Santaquin; Richard A. Cook, Orem; Ralph E. Cook, Pleasant Grove; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grand-children; a sister, Mrs. Alberta Kunsman of San Jacinto, Calif. Services were Tuesday in Pleasant Grove. Burial in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Lawrence H. Jackson Lawrence H. Jackson, 66, of Anaheim, CA., and formerly of Orem, died Sept. 3, 1982, in Artesia, CA. While living in Orem he was a foreman for Orem City Public Works for 22 years. Nephi Georgi Dr. Nephi Georgi, 61, of Provo, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1982 at Utah Valley Hospital of cancer. He was born in Schneidemuhl, Germany on Dec. 14, 1920 to Erich and Frieda Rettig Giorgi. He married Hedi Wirl on June 11, 1947 in Deggendorf, Germany. The later was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He moved to the United States with his parents when he was 8. He was educated in the Salt Iake City schools and received his medical degree from the University of Utah. He taught at the University of Utah until 1955 when he joined the original staff at the Church College in Hawaii. He taught there until December 1981. Survivors include his wife of Provo; two sons and one daughter, Monty D. Georgi, Orem; Ricky L. Georgi Huntsville; Ria Y. Georgi, Provo; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Blair (Evelyn) Kough, Madera, Calif.; one half-brother, Kurt Travis, Los Angeles. Funeral was held Tuesday, in the Provo 27th Ward Chapel in Provo. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Hills. The family suggested contributions to the American Cancer Society. Interment Inter-ment Orem City Cemetery. ? i Lyle Eugene Prestwich Lyle Eugene Prestwich, 35, 92:1 E. 400 N., Orem died Sept. 6, 1982, at Utah Valley Hospital due to a massive heart attack. He was born in American Fork, Utah, on May 24, 1947 to Eugene L. and Elaine Pennington Prestwich. He married DcAnna Curtis on June 19, 1971 in Salina, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Prestwich received his education in Orem schools. He graduated from Orem High School. He also graduated from Southern Utah College in accounting. Following his marriage they made their home in Orem. He had worked with his family at Prestwich & Sons Lumber Co. He also had worked at Heckett Engineering. He worked as the accounting officer with the National Guard for the past eight years. At the time of his death he was the commander com-mander of the Vernal Guard Unit. He was a meber of the Orem 57th Ward where he was serving as assistant ward clerk. He enjoyed gardening and the out-of-doors. He is survived by his wife of Orem, 2 sons and 1 daughter: Jason Lyle Prestwich, Heather Prestwich, and Ryan Blair Prestwich, all of Orem; his parents; grandfather. Economic Development Report Presented Council The city council approved the report and recommendations of the Economic Development Committee, but agreed not to implement the suggestions immediately. The council will move ' toward implementation following further study. The committee received commendation from the council. They presented the report to the council in a work session prior to the council meeting. Mayor DeLance Squire and City Manager Daryl Berlin met with Alpine School Board President Dan Fugal and Superintendent Max Welcker earlier this week to discuss sidewalks and accesses to schools. A. second meeting between school district officials and officials from cities within the district will be held at a later date. The council set a public hearing to adopt the ,j new zoning ordinance. The date selected is October . 12 at 7:30 p.m. Special interest groups will be informed infor-med and meetings will be held to discuss the new ordinance and the council will be provided with additional ad-ditional information, said City Planner Ed Stout. The Public Works Department received approval ap-proval for the purchase of a new chassis to rebuild an old solid waste disposal truck damaged in a fire ': last May. The truck will be repaired with insurance money and funds available in the budget.' The total cost of the repairs will be $54,000. Public Works Director Jack Jones said the old truck was over five years old and vehicles are retired after six years, so rebuilding the truck is an improvement over the previous situation. The council approved the expenditure of $11,000 to construct walkways in the vicinity of Aspen Elementary on 2000 N. Jones said he had received a verbal committment from Harold Jacklin of the Alpine School District for $6,000 toward the project. She married William Boyd Mayfield Sr. on Dec, 24, 1921 in West Union, W.VA. lie died June fi, . She was educated in West Union schools. After marrying, the Mayfields made their first home in Pittsburg, Pa., until moving to Ontario, Calif., in 1942. They moved to Orem in 1944. Thief Steals White Family At Church A Sunday thief removed the hydraulic floor roller jack valued at $200 from under the jacked-up van in front of the Raymond Carroll resident, 698 N. 835 W., while the family was at church. Mr. Carroll told officers an air wrench, 'valued at $130 and a air chisel valued at $100 were taken from inside the van. Apparently the thief gained access through a partially open window, he said.
