Wengert, district supervisor for Jehovah's Witnesses, Wit-nesses, talk on the subject "Who Will Conquer the World in the 1970'sV This marked the climax of the three-day circuit convention con-vention of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mr. Wengert pointed out during his address that there are those elements today which would like to conquer the world. He stated "Today average people the world over are affected by the answer to our question. Carpenters, housewives and school children are dying every day because of this issue and many more will yet lose their lives before it is finally settled once and for all. The international power struggle is over the question of which ideology and economic system will prevail and prove victorious over the other-democracy other-democracy or communism. Both of these major powers seem intent in-tent on protecting their sphere of influence and expanding it where possible. So fierce has become the rivalry and competition competi-tion between them that it is injst difficult for any nation or jeople to remain uncommitted snd strictly neutral in the struggle. strug-gle. Each day's news recounts the latest frantic maneuvering on ooth sides along with the latest incident or crisis that has developed. de-veloped. Mr. Wengert noted that from amid all this there is still another world conqueror who has been completely overlooked, that being Jesus Christ. Wengert further stated that Christ never had an Margo Rollins, Gail Rose. K.C. "However he stated, "nineteen centuries ago Jesus Christ did conquer the world by successfully success-fully overcoming the pressures and influences of his day." In conclusion Mr.Wengertsaid, "Despite the present outlook, Bible prophecy assures us that neither of the two major blocs of nations is due to succeed in conquering the other. God's Kingdom, King-dom, on the shoulders of Jesus Christ, will soon destroy the entire en-tire wicked system of things that prevail on this earth today. Bible chronology alerts us that this event will be expected soon, very likely in the mid 1970's. At stake now are our very lives for we will all end up either as live conquerors with Christ or dead conquered ones at Armageddon Richard DeJulio, stated that plans are already being laid for the spring convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. To Stop Gift Exchange When an exchange is stopped or interrupted between family members, it can be agreed upon ahead of time. There are times Christmas spending must be cut drastically, following heavy medical medi-cal expenses or for some other reason. Friends or family understand under-stand this, and should they arrive ar-rive with their gifts, a "thank you" is all that is expected of you. Kim E. Watson Completes Basic FT. ORD.
