Reason for closing I-15 to north bound traffic is to seal coat the Provo-Spanish Fork freeway- one side of the freeway at a time with the east side, or northbound north-bound lanes completed first. Southbound traffic may still use the freeway until the northbound north-bound portion is seal coated and again ready for traffic (approximately (approx-imately two or three weeks.) Then the northbound portion will be opened and the southbound lanes closed for seal coating. The seal coating is a final process applied to surfaces after a three-year settling period.
