Show ltfW i Mrs. Nielson Woman Dies In Home Fire Mary 0. Nielsen, 87, was found dead Tuesday morning in a fire which had burned the kitchen of the small brick home in which she lived at 487 S. State in Or em. The fire was discovered around 8 a.m. by Cecil Smith, 21, of Mid vale, grandson of the woman 9 who made his home with her during the week while attending BYU. Smith notified the police and fire departments. Smith told officers he left the home this morning at 3:45 and returned re-turned just before 8 a.m. to find the small house full of smoke. Firemen and police found Mrs. Nielsen's b3dy in the kitchen, seated on a chair. The telephone, which was melted from the heat was on her shoulder, and her clothing was smouldering. Orem Fire Chief Arnie Long said that from all appearances, the woman's clothing had become ignited while she prepared breakfast break-fast and she apparently had tried to telephone for help.She probably died from smoke inhalation. The Utah County Attorney's office indicated that no inquest is planned. plan-ned. However, Utah County Attorney At-torney Dayle Jeffs has ordered an autopsy. Mary 0. Nielson was born Sept. 22, 1879, Salem, Utah County to Andrew and Larsine Olsen Otte-sen. Otte-sen. Married to Ellas Nielsen, Jan. 18, 1904, Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 19, 1913. She had lived in Orem 60 years and had been an active LDS Relief Society Teacher for 47 years. Survivors:' sons, daughters, daught-ers, Arthur A., Mrs. Jim (Z el-ma) el-ma) Pride, both Salt Lake City; Mrs. A. W. (Sylvia) Rhodes, Lehi; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. ARMY, VIETNAM-Army Private First Class Leon H. Brimhall, 24, sonofMr.andMrs. Harold S. Brimhall, 532 West 165 South, Orem, was assigned to the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam, April 27. A combat construction specialist special-ist in Company E of the division's 15th Engineer Battalion located near Long Thanh, Pvt. Brimhall Brim-hall entered on active duty last November and was last stationed station-ed at Ft Leonard Wood, Mo. Brimhall, whose wife, Bonnie, lives at 498 S. Stutler, district sup ervisor for Jehovah's Witnesses and principal speaker for the group's coming circuit convention conven-tion to be held in Spanish Fork, Utah, June 9 to 11, will arrive in Provo, Utah, on Tuesday, June 6, according to Harry Mitani, lo cal presiding minister. As the principal speaker for this three-day Bible refresher course, Mr. stuuer win nave many parts on the program. Opening Op-ening night, Friday, at 7 p.m. he speak on the convention theme "Supply to Your Faith Endurance and at 7:15 p.m. he will conduct the ministry-training school. On Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Stutler will speak on Dedication and Baptism" and then at 7 p.m. he will discuss "Examining Our Ministry as he reviews the preaching activity of the 16 congregations in Utah Circuit No. 1. Following this at 7:25 p.m. he will be in charge of the staged dramatization which will stress "Adding To Our Faith Endurance." She was born June 20, 1881, in Center Creek, Utah, a daughter of Daniel Kimball and Mary Muir Bunnell. She married Hosea L. Davis, Sept. 19, 1900. They were later divorced. She later married James Milton Gordon, Jan. 2, 1919, in Provo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Gordon died April 4, 1931. Mrs. Gordon moved to the Provo Bench with her parents as a child where she attended Orem City Schools. Following her mar riage she moved to Rexburg, Ida., and later to Park City, returning to Orem where she had resided since. A member of the LDS Church she had worked as a visiting teacher for the Relief Society for many years. She was also a mem ber of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She worked most of her life as a practical nurse and midwife. Her hobbies were quilting and needlework. Survivors include three sons and two daughters, Mrs.AlvinW. (Mary) Harding, Mrs. Edward (Viola) Harris, Robert F.Gordon and LeLan Gordon all of Orem; Max B. Gordon of Spanish Fork; stepchildren, Harold Gordon of Hendersen, Nev, Mrs. Carl(Zu - - j la) Nelson of Salt Lake City, and Joseph B. Gordon of Heber 41 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren; one brother and one sister, Burdell D. Bunnell and Mrs. Pearl Newell, both of Orem. Mrs. Campbell also serves as vice president of the Orem Business Bus-iness and Professional Women and has served as president of both the Orem and Spanish Fork clubs. She has been a member of the Utah Federation of BPW for 17 years. Her PTA activities have included in-cluded a local unit president, magazine chairman, publicity chairman, and room representative. representa-tive.
