Donald R. McNeil, a Little League coach in Arizona, be lieves too many parents superimpose super-impose their own standards on a sport designed for children 8 to 12 years of age and that by "constant nagging criticism, parents pass along their own insecurities to their sons. McNeil Mc-Neil speaks his mind in an article, art-icle, "Little Leagues Aren't Big Leagues," appearing in the June of Reader's Digest and Parents' Magazine. "Little League baseball isa splendid opportunity to teach boys the basic facts of sports and of sportsmanship," he writes. In front of teammates, managers coaches coach-es and other parents, fathers, mothers abuse their boys for not fielding like Red Schoen-dienst, Schoen-dienst, hitting like Mickey Mantle or not pitching like Vernon Law. . . "Umpire - baiting by parents par-ents creats an unwholsome attitude toward authority. The father who teaches by his example ex-ample that rules are made to be broken is training his boy later in life to crib on school examinations, run t h rough stop signs and cheat on his income in-come tax. 5.
