Show Riding Club Members Enjoy Box Supper Members of Crem Riding Club enjoyed a box supper and darnce party Saturday night at the clubhouse. Music for dancing was furnished fur-nished by Slim Anderson and Ken Mackey. Committee members reported report-ed that everyone had a good time, and especially thanked those who made the event a success. Gaily decorated box lunches had been prepared by ladies of the group, and these were auctioned to the highest bidder. bid-der. The successful bidder then ate supper with the lady who prepared the box he won. Free Movie Stated for Kids Saturday The Exchange Club of Provo will sponsor a free Easter Party and show Saturday morning mor-ning at the Academy Theatre in Provo for all Utah county children under age 12. The show will consist of an assortment of color cartoons and short subjects and a feature fea-ture from the PTA approved film library "Francis, the Talking Mule, joins the Navy! There will be free candy for all kinds given out by the members of the Exchange Club who will be present. There will toe four full 2-hour 2-hour shows at 8 a. m., 10 a. m., 12 noon, 2 p. m. The earlier the kids get there the better the chances of everyone getting get-ting in, club members said. Junior Prom at OHS is Successful "Elysia," was the theme of the annual Junior Prom assembly as-sembly and dance which war3 presented to the students of Orem High last Friday, April 5. An assembly, based on a fantasy land of Elysia, was presented Friday morning, and that evening, couples danced to the music of Fred Loveless in the boy's gym, which was decorated dec-orated with bold Roman decorations dec-orations featuring gold, green, and white. The floorshow consisted of the Promanade, danced by junior couples, and the announcement an-nouncement of the Junior Prom royalty. Crowned as King and Queen were Dave Allphin and JoAnn Bellows. Jensen, local manager man-ager of the Mountain States Telephone Co., announced today to-day that the next issue of the telephone directory, which is scheduled for delivery in No vember, will be printed with aril numberal telephone num bers Many of the letter prefix numbers in this area have already al-ready been changed to all numeral numbers and it is planned to c o mplete the change - over before the new directory. This change will not alfect the present dialing of calls as the letters which are currently part of the telephone number correspond to the numbers which will be assigned, on the telephone dial. Patriotic Musical Presented at Westmore School "Children Helped Make America-," was theme of a program pro-gram given by third grade classes Tuesday evening at Westmore school. About 120 children in colorful color-ful costumes took part in the original dramatization. In addition ad-dition to songs they have learned this year, the children performed dances of Denmark, Germany, France Scotland, and American Indian dances. Teachers directing the pro duction included Ela Dee Alcorn, Al-corn, Joan Jones, Joan Rollins Rol-lins and Nedra Reese. The program pro-gram was presented for the students in matinee performances perform-ances and for . parents in the evening. Round Tables For Scouters Slated Tonight Round Tables for Scouter3 will be held tonight. For Cub Scouts, a special program will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Orem 11th LDS Ward chapel. Featuring a three-ring circus, the program is for all people working with Cub Scouts, parents, and other persons interested in Cubs. iScouters will meet at the same hour in the Lincoln LDS Seminary building. Topics for the evening are physical fitness fit-ness and pioneering. Gary Madsen Jazz Band Dates Concert The Gary Madsen Concert Jazz Band of Provo will be presented in concert Saturday, April 27 at 8 p.m. in the Highland High-land High School Auditorium. The band features 20 of Utah's outstanding jazz musicians, music-ians, according to Dean Fotheringham and Trevor Anderson, An-derson, promoters of the concert, con-cert, and will perform the music of San Kenton. Mr. Kenton has personally endorsed this concert, they said. Two mellophoniums, an instrument in-strument designed for Stan Kenton to fill the tonal range between the trumpets and the trombones, have been purchased purchas-ed for this occasion and two of the greatest performers have been selected to play them. John Bernhard to Emcee Program At Scout-0-Ree The announcement of John Bernhard as Master of Ceremonies Cere-monies for the annual Scout- O-Ree at BYU April 20, was made this week by C. Vern Clark, chairman of the Executive Execu-tive Committee of the event. Mr. Bernhard Assistant to the President at Brigham Young University and State Senator, served in the same capacity at last year's Scout- O-Ree, and has been active in the scouting program for many years. The Scout-O-Ree, which will take place at the George Albert Al-bert Smith Fieldhouse West Annex from 5 to 8 p. m. Sat urday April 20, will present an exciting example of Boy Scout skills, crafts, training and tal ent in over 40 "booth" dis plays. In addition, there will be a three-hour continuous show feeaturing live entertainment entertain-ment and talent from the scouting program and BYU. It is this program that Mr. Bern-hard Bern-hard will emcee. The Scout-O-Ree will be the largest Boy Scout program in Utah County this year, with Scout troops, Cub packs and Posts from every community in Utah County and entries from as far away as Genola and Richfield. Proceeds from the Scout-O-Ree will go to the Boy Scout Maple Dell swimming swim-ming pool.
