Show i Two Postal Groups Get New Status At Orem Post Office The Orem Post Office has taken official action to implement imple-ment the Post Office Department's Depart-ment's new program for negotiation ne-gotiation and consultation on grievances, working conditions, personnel practices and other related matters, Posmaster Clyde E. Weeks, Jr. . reported Wednesday. The move, developed bj the Postal Service under President Kennedy's historic Executive Order 10988 of Jan. 17, 1962, officially recognizes federal employee organizations for the first time. Recognition is based on results re-sults of the largest nationwide nation-wide labor management elect ion, held June 15-July 1, 1962, in which . 451,000 postal employees em-ployees participated. " At the Orem Post Office, G. Reese Pulham is president of Local 5192, United Federation of Postal Clerks, which won exclusive recognition for clerks. Reed H. Davis is president of Local 4235, National Association Assoc-iation of Letter Carriers, which won exclusive recognition for carriers. "Exclusive" recognitio.i was acquired by employee organi zations having a cleat majority of the vote in a particular craft unit under prescribed voting procedures. The postmaster will negoti ate with these organizations, holding regular meetings and working out written agree ments on matters affecting all employees in the craft unit represented, re-presented, regardless of employees' em-ployees' membership status. The employees of the Orem Post Office, now receiving official of-ficial recognition at the local level for their employee organization, or-ganization, ". join with employees em-ployees in more than 30,000 post offices throughout the nation in acquiring official recognition under the President's Presi-dent's labor-management order or-der for federal employees. Orem - Geneva Times Thursday, April 11, 1963 Police Seek Clues In Theft of Wiring Materials Investigation is being made by Orem City Police into theft of an estimated $500 worth of wiring materials from Hansen Wholesale Electric, 1546 So., State. ,The theft occurred during the weekend when thieves pried open a rear door. Little was distrubed other than the wire which was taken. Police are also investigating theft of a green tent on display dis-play in front of the Sportsman, 644 N. State. The tent was valued at $80. James Jasper, 733 N. Orch ard Dr., reported theft of am munition, tool box and assorted assort-ed tools taken from his car while it was parked at Geneva Steel Plant. Theft of racing pigeons val ued at $150 was reported by Grant J. Johnson, 590 E. Center. Cent-er. Three plate glass windows were discovered broken at Petty Sails M a n u facturing Corporation at 1804 So. State Friday. Damage was estimated at $300.
