On Park Avenue during last week's snowstorms, snow-storms, some motorists were obeying the posted speed limit of 25 mph. A speed trailer found one motorist, driving driv-ing 18 mph, well below the posted limit. The Police Department frequently use speed trailers as a deterrent deter-rent to fast-driving motorists. In bad weather like last week, police suggest that motorists slow down. In 2003, the Police Department has increased its anti-speeding efforts and formed a traffic patrol. GRAYSON WESTPARK RECORD POLICE Tow-truck and taxi disputes attract attention of the Police Department Park City police officers were called to intervene in a tow-truck dispute on Friday, Nov. 28 that involved a European ski team. According to police, officers were called to a dispute at 2:50 p.m. Public police logs did not list where the incident occurred. Police said a person called, alleging that somebody climbed into the caller's tow truck and started to drive away. When officers investigated, they found that the tow-truck driver driv-er had reportedly blocked a Swiss ski team vehicle and they needed to move the tow truck in order to get their vehicle out. The tow-truck driver, though, refused to leave, police said. Officers did not take action. Officers put the moose upright. At 1:27 a.m., police were called to a fight on the 300 block of Main Street. When they arrived, officers arrested two men and took them to the Summit County Jail. On Saturday, Nov. 29 at 10:51 p.m., police received a report that the front of a restaurant on the 300 block of Main Street had been egged. Police were told that the eggs had come from a balcony across the street. Police were unable to locate a suspect. At 12:20 a.m., a reckless driver was reported on S.R. 248. At 2:01 a.m., police arrested a motorist for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the intersection of S.R. 224 and Holiday Ranch Loop Road. Police were told that a taxi rider on the 1600 block of lower Iron Horse Loop left the cab without paying the fare. Police said the fare was between $50 and $200. On Thursday, Nov. 27, at 1:32 p.m., officers were called to intervene inter-vene in another taxi dispute. Police said four people got out of a taxi van on the 2100 block of Park Avenue and called a taxi from Salt Lake City to take them to the airport. air-port. Police received a complaint about a business-license violation for a cab to do so. An officer explained the city's taxi ordinance. On Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 5:06 p.m., police received a report that a truck had jackknifed at the intersection intersec-tion of Woodside Avenue and King Road. The driver was able to straighten the truck, police said. At 1:32 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting complaint on the 1300 block of Lowell Avenue. A juvenile shoplifter was in custody and police issued a citation and released the youth to his mother. On Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 2:26 p.m. and 2:27 p.m., truancy citations were written at Park City High School. Police were called to the intersection inter-section of Heber Avenue and Park Avenue at 1:41 a.m., where three men reportedly threw bricks into the street. An officer reported that the men had cleaned up the mess. - On Monday, Nov. 24 at 6:46 p.m., a person reported a dog bite on the Rail Trail. Police received a complaint from a taxi company at 4:43 p.m. that the company had received false service calls from the 2100 block of Meadows Drive.
