Players of the Week The Park City High boys" soccer soc-cer team has had various members mem-bers step up and play big throughout their run toward the state championship. But for their first playoff game at Delta last week, the Miner's Eddie McKenna was the key - scoring at a critical juncture junc-ture to allow Park City to advance. The offensive standout went on to score in their quarterfinal quarter-final game against Wasatch where he played a solid overall game. For his efforts, McKenna was selected as last week's Bad Ass Coffee Player of the Week. Once the team advanced to face the Wasps on the road, they knew it would be a difficult game. Extreme and Utah football club's Sting met for the first time this season at the North 40 fields. Sting got on the board first when a free kick from just outside the penalty area beat the defensive wall to give goalie Rock Christeson no chance. Extreme was not at their best and had difficulty creating chances against Sting's well organized defense - keeping the game largely a mid-field struggle. Christeson dealt safely with a few long-range shots from Sting. Thomas Rasmuson brought more life to the game when he scored the equalizer early in the second half off one of his trademark trade-mark breakaways. Eric Maw came close to giving Extreme the lead but was denied by a fine save and later by the crossbar. Allen Avedovech created problems for the Scorpion's defense from the start and 10 minutes into play, beat the defense down the right. Thomas Rasmuson narrowly failed to get his head to the ball but Zack Fortuna was in perfect position on the far post and scored his first goal of the season with a fierce left foot shot.
