According to Paula Swaner-Sargetakis, Swaner-Sargetakis, vice president of Swaner's board of trustees, the parcel par-cel will bring the park's total current size to 700-acres. Monday, December 30, the Summit County Commissioners approved designation of the parcel as a conservation easement. Swaner-Sargetakis Swaner-Sargetakis said the designation added an important piece of land to an environmentally envi-ronmentally critical area of the park. "We have been working with Summit County, Utah Open Lands, and the developer of the Ranch Place subdivision for over two years to include this property within the Park," she said, and added, "We are grateful to these organizations for all of their help and support in making this happen. Swaner-Sargetakis further stressed the significance of the parcel because it "establishes not only 50-percent 50-percent of the south boundary of the park, but protects part of the critical groundwater discharge area as well." The Ranch Place parcel will be subject sub-ject to the approved Utah Open Lands conservation easement, in addition to Army Corps of Engineers 404 permit regulations. With the addition of the Ranch Place parcel, she said, over 300 acres of the park have been either deeded or pledged directly to the foundation.
