Lanvcrs has been promoted to vice president of PRE international sales for PRE Skis, a brand of alpine recreational and racing skis, it was recently announced by PRE Vice President and General Manager, Kip Pitou. Lanvers will manage PRE Skis' international sales, open new channels of distribution and spearhead product development Posting a 20 percent annual growth in international sales since Lanvers joined the company in 1991, PRE Skis currently distributes its line of Alpine skis, ski accessories and Western outdoor active wear products in 20 countries worldwide. A U.S. citizen, Lanvers is a native of France and first came to the U.S, in 1977 as product manager for Look ski bindings, then became marketing director for Lange ski boots. Prior to joining Pre Skis he was general manager of KoflachUSA. Lanvers is fluent in four languages and brings 21 years of international experience to PRE. Lanvers will continue to reside with his family in Park City, Utah--home of PRE Skis World Headquarters. PRE Skis is an independent bran owned by Anthony Industries which also owns K2 and Olin. . I'll tell you, these course maintenance guys at Breckenridge did a great job keeping the course in good shape." Battelle, who started freestyle skiing after graduating! from Middlebry College in 1989T Won with a strong second run.' Fourth on the first run, she finished with 24.87 points while Liz Mclntyre of Winter Park Colorado, was runner up with 23.40. Maggie Connor of Underwood Washington, was third with 22.45 in her first competition after taking the winter off and training on her own. Rachel Savitt of Marina Del Rey, California, was fourth with 22.17 points and Ann Dowling of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, completed the top five at 21.82. "I was pretty confident because I trained well all week," said Battelle, who moved from Williston, Vermont to Steamboat Springs to train four years ago. "I'm glad I skied as, well as I knew I could." In the Women's moguls, Suzanne Britnell was 15th (16.78), Jill Johnson 21st (12.19) and Christine Fraccola 26th. Park City's only non-bumps skier was 15-year-old Joe Pack, who finished 15th in the inverted aerials Sunday, with a score of 120.63 points. The program, which began this November, will continue through the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer. The initial program is part of a two year plan called "The Total Champion" and is being implemented through a series of workshops produced by nationally recognized media trainer Judy Carter. The program will ultimately provide 20 hours of training for every athlete on each of the U.S. Ski Team's leading up to the 1994 Olympics. The Team hopes to continue the program as a permanent part of its athlete education programs. Carter, who has a strong background in radio and television as well as a professional media trainer, developed "The Total Champion" program to provide high-profile, b asic communications skills for all athletes, as well as specialized training for athlete, as well as specialized training for athletes who constantly appear before the public and media.
