Community Clinic services The Park City Community Clinic, a nonprofit family planning plan-ning program, will hold clinics in January. Appointments are available for morning, afternoon and evening clinics. Services offered include physical exams, pap tests, counseling coun-seling and education, VD screening, pregnancy testing arid contraceptive supplies. Costs for these services are minimal. No one will be denied use of the clinic, and all services are confidential. For information or an appointment, please call 649-5989. (127) Avalanche clinic The White Pine Touring Center and the Park City Recreation Department will hold a two-day avalanche clinic on Thursday, Jan. 6 and Sunday, Jan. 9. The first session will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Memorial Building. Slides will be shown and technical aspects of avalanche safety will be covered. The second session, to be held on the mountain, will focus on hazards, rescue and avalanche control. The cost is $15 for both sessions. For more information, call 649-8701 or 649-9461. (16) City office hours The City offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 31, for the New Year holiday. There will be no change in residential garbage pickup. However there will be no commercial pickup on Jan. 1. There will be collections on the day before and after the holiday. If you have any questions call G & F Waste Disposal at 649-5049. Landfill hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. It will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The Public Works office will be servicing the City through the holidays. Big Brothers and Big Sisters are needed to be very important people in the life of boys and girls who need special friends. Big Brothers and Sisters need to be able to spend a few hours a week with their little brothers or sisters. Training and ongoing support and supervision super-vision are provided. Following the recent opening of the Park City Big BrotherBig Sister office, there have been numerous requests for Big Brothers and Sisters. Without adult volunteers, volun-teers, the program will not be able to meet the needs of any of the nearly 250 boys and girls of single parent families living in Summit and Wasatch counties who could benefit from a special friend. ( 1230) City boards to meet in joint work session There will be a joint work session of the City Council, the Planning Commission and the Historic District Commission, at 7:30 in the Marsac Building, on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1983. Subjects under discussion will be the Land Management Code, the Historic District zone changes and the Historic District Design Guidelines. ( 1230) Lecture on antique dolls Best-selling author Wendy Lavitt, recently reviewed in Time Magazine, will present an illustrated lecture on antique dolls on Sunday, Jan. 2, at 4 p.m., at the Park City Library. The event is sponsored by Friends of the Library & Dolly's Bookstore. Ms. Lavitt will be available after the 45 minute lecture for questions and autographed copies of her books. O Continuing stained glass Etching and glue chipping, advanced stained glass techniques, will be taught by Dale Nelson at the Kimball Art Center in a seven-week class beginning Thursday, Jan. 13 from 7 to 10 p.m. This class is for students of all ages who have some knowledge of stained glass. Tuition is $45 for Kimball Art Center members and $50 for nonmembers. For further information, in-formation, call 649-8882. ( 1223 ) Watercolor Park City artist Diane Balaban will teach morning and evening watercolor classes at the Kimball Art Center in January. The morning class will meet from 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday, beginning Jan. 11, for six weeks. The evening class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday for six weeks beginning Jan. 13. Both classes are for beginning to intermediate students and will introduce transparent watercolor techniques. Diane Balaban has received training in California, Utah and New York. She is a member of the Utah Watercolor Society and Park City Artists Association. Tuition for each class is $45 for Kimball Art Center members mem-bers and $47 for nonmembers.
